This study attempts to compare the students to specialize in dance with other students, and the analysis of their differences. The subjects of this study were 338 students selected from an art high school and a common high school in Incheon and Seoul (major in ballet: 43, major in Korean dance: 69, major in modern dance: 31, common students : 195) This study examined 16
factors with Cattell's SPF test, condescriptive, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation. The major results of the study were as follows: First, the students to specialize in dance got higher character marks than other students in A factor, E factor, F factor, and O factor, but they didn't in I factor and Q1 factor. Second, the first grade students to specialize in dance got lower character marks than other students in G factor, I factor, and Q1 factor, but they got higher character marks than others in O factor and Q4 factor. And the second grade students to specialize in dance got higher character marks than other students in A factor, but they got lower character marks than others in I factor, Q1 factor, and Q3 factor. And the third grade students to specialize in dance got higher character marks than other students in N factor and Q4, but they got lower character marks
than others in B factor and M factor. The differences between the students to specialize in dance and other students were statistically significant. Third, there were some differences among 16 factors of major subjects which the students specializing in dance had. The students to specialize in modern dance got higher marks than the students to specialize in ballet in N factor,
but they got marks as equal as the students to specialize in Korean dance. And the students to specialize in Korean dance got higher marks than The students to specialize in modern dance and ballet in Q1 factor. The differences between the students to specialize in modern dance and the students to specialize in ballet is not much.

본 연구는 무용전공 학생집단의 성격을 일반 학생집단과 비교 연구하고자, 인천ㆍ서울 지역에 소재하는 무용전공 여고생(발레 전공: 43명, 한국무용 전공: 69명, 현대무용 전공: 31명) 143명과 일반 여고생 195명 총 338명을 대상으로, Cattell의 SPF식 검사지를 사용하여 16개 성격 요인별로 측정하고, SPSS하위 프로그램인 condescriptive, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation을 사용하여 검증한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.
1) 무용전공 학생집단과 일반 학생집단 간의 성격특성의 차에서 16개요인 중 다음과 같은 요인에서 차이가 났다. A요인, E요인, F요인, O요인은 무용전공 학생집단이 일반 학생집단보다 높은 성격점수를 보였고, I요인, Q1요인에서는 무용전공 학생집단이 일반 학생집단보다 낮은 성격점수를 나타냈다.
2) 1학년의 경우 무용전공 학생집단과 일반학생 집단 간의 성격특성 차이에서 G요인, I요인, Q1요인에서 무용전공 학생집단이 일반 학생집단보다 낮은 점수를 보였고, O요인, Q4요인에서는 무용전공 학생집단이 일반 학생집단보다 높은 점수를 나타냈다. 또한 2학년의 경우 무용전공 학생집단과 일반 학생집단 간의 성격특성 차이에서 A요인에서 무용전공 학생집단이 일반 학생집단보다 높은 점수를 보였고 I요인, Q1요인, Q3요인에서는 무용전공 학생집단이 일반 학생집단보다 낮은 점수를 나타냈으며 3학년의 경우 무용전공 학생집단과 일반 학생집단 간의 성격특성 차이에서 N요인, Q4요인에서무용전공 학생집단이 일반학생 집단보다 높은 점수를 보였고 B요인, M요인에서는 무용전공 학생집단이 일반학생 집단보다 낮은 점수를 나타냈다.
3) 무용전공 학생집단에서 전공 종목 간의 성격특성 차이에서 16개요인 중 다음과 같은 요인에서 차이가 나타났다. N요인은 현대무용을 전공하는 집단이 발레를 전공하는 집단보다 점수가 높았으며, 한국무용을 전공하는 집단과는 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 Q1요인에서는 한국무용을 전공하는 집단이 발레를 전공하는 집단과 현대무용을 전공하는 집단보다 점수가 높았으며, 발레를 전공하는 집단과 현대무용을 전공하는 집단의 차이는 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다.
