The purpose of this study is to test the effect of a leisure education program on a leisure attitude and perceived leisure competence among community residing elderly persons. In order to attain such purpose of study, the following two research issues were set up in this study. First, does leisure education program affect the change of leisure attitude by the aged persons? Second, on what effect leasure education program has for the perceived leisure competence among elderly persons? Leisure education program for the aged person consisted of leisure desire, awareness to leisure desire, awareness to self, leisure goal, leisure alternatives and resource, and self-determination. The program in this research was executed in 2 times for subject of the aged persons who were not over 1 year since registration to settlement house among old people
with the age over 60 who make use of A, B settlement houses for the old people located in Seoul. The subjects were totally 33 persons by 17 persons in experimental group and 16 persons in control group. Summary of research result induced by the analysis is as follows: 1) The attitude for leisure by the participant in leisure education were positively higher after being participated in leisure education program than non-participants. 2) The Perceived leisure competence for leisure by the participant in leisure education were positively higher after being participated in leisure education program than non-participants. The effect to improve attitude for leisure and perceived leisure competence was confirmed in this leisure education program through the above result. Hence, leisure education program being composed of leisure desire,
self awareness, leisure goal, leisure alternatives and resource, and self-determination could be presented as the effective program to improve attitude for leisure, and perceived leisure competence for old people who try to start leisure life in old age on the spot of practice setting afterwards.

본 연구는 지역사회 노인을 대상으로 노인의 여가태도와 여가유능감 차원에서 노인 여가교육 프로그
램의 영향을 검증하는 것이다. 연구 문제로는 첫째, 여가교육 프로그램이 노인의 여가태도에 영향을 주
는가, 둘째, 여가교육 프로그램이 노인의 여가유능감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 가로 설정하였다. 연구문
제들의 해답을 얻기 위하여 본 연구에서는 서울에 소재한 두 곳의 노인 복지관을 이용하고 있는60 세 이
상의 노인들 가운데 복지관에 등록한 지1 년이 되지 않은 노인들을 대상으로 프로그램을2 회 실시하였
으며 실험집단이 17명, 대조집단이 16명으로 총 33명이었다. A 복지관의 경우 실험집단이1 2명, 대조집
단이 10명으로 총 22명이었으며, B 복지관은 실험집단이5 명, 대조집단이 6명으로 총 11명이었다. 연구
도구로는 여가태도척도와 여가진단척도 중 지각된 여가유능감척도를 사용하였다. 연구결과로는 여가교
육 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단은 대조집단에 비해 여가태도의 변화가 긍정적으로 높아졌으며, 실험집
단은 대조집단에 비해 여가유능감의 변화가 긍정적으로 높아졌다. 이상의 결과를 통해서 본 여가교육 프로그램이 여가태도와 여가유능감을 증가시키는 효과가 있었음을 확인하였으며, 여가욕구와 여가에 대한 인식, 자신에 대한 인식, 여가목표, 여가대안과 자원, 자기결정으로 구성된 여가교육 프로그램은 노년을 맞아 여가생활을 시작하려는 노인들에게 여가태도, 여가유능감을 향상시키는 효과적인 프로그램임을 입증하였다.
