The purpose of this study was to analyze relationship between educational objectives and contents by time through analyzing transitions in objectives and contents of transportation technology education in technology education curriculum of middle and high school The findings of this study were as follows: First, The objectives of transportation technology education in middle school were focused on energy, power and internal-combustion engine-related knowledges and skills. Second, The study classified the contents of transportation technology education in high school according to input, process and output, three major steps of transportation system proposed in Jackson's Mill education curriculum. As a result, input and process occupied more than output in contents. Cognitive domain and psychomotor domain occupied high portion in contents.

이 연구는 중․고등학교 기술교과 교육과정에서 수송기술영역의 교육목표와 내용의 변천과정을 분석하고 시기별 교육목표와 내용의 상호관련성을 구명하는 것이었다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 중․고등학교 교과서를 중심으로 한 문헌 연구를 수행하였으며 다음과 같은 연구결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 중학교 기술교과 교육과정에서 수송기술영역이 차지하는 비중은 아주 적었다. 교육목표는 주로 인지적 영역과 심리운동적 영역을 강조하였고, 교육내용은 투입, 과정에 집중되었다. 또한 수송기술을 기계요소와 내연기관으로 인식하여 일반교육으로서의 기술교육이 아닌 직업 교육적 성격을 강하게 나타내고 있었다. 둘째, 고등학교 기술교과 교육과정에서 수송기술영역의 목표가 차지하는 비중이 다소 높았으나 주로 인지적 영역과 심리운동적 영역을 강조하고 있었고, 교육내용은 투입, 과정에 집중되어 있었다. 또한, 고등학교 기술교과 교육과정은 시기마다 진술 방법에 있어서 약간의 차이는 있으나 전반적으로 초기에는 기능 습득이 강조되어 직업 교육적인 내용에서 출발하여, 점차적으로 일반교육적인 내용으로 변화하고 있었지만 여전히 직업교육적 성격을 나타내고 있었다.
