The purpose of this study was to offer fundamental proposal for pre-service teacher's education on practical arts in response to new system of the examination for appointing elementary school teachers. The contents of this study are summarized as follows. Fields about desirable instruction were ‘Attractive integration on contents of everyday life', 'Formation of divergent thinking and permissive atmosphere', 'Improvement of procedural knowledge through practice', and 'Formation of moral manners through experience' And these fields were assorted like these : ‘Attractive integration on contents of everyday life' needs for capacity of 'Whole knowledge in practical arts', 'Integration on contents of everyday life', 'Sensible understanding of students' interests and demands', 'handling of administrative task about teacher's curriculums' ; 'Formation of divergent thinking and permissive atmosphere' needs for capacity of ' 'suitably divergent questions', 'divergent teaching methods', and 'make permissive atmosphere' ; 'Improvement of procedural knowledge through practice' needs for capacity of 'guidance of practice in whole practical arts', 'teacher's procedural knowledge about practice', 'application, use, improvement of practice's material in condition at present' and 'planing the application of a life by procedural knowledge'; 'Formation of moral manners through experience' needs for capacity of 'finding virtue in connectin with practice', 'teaching moral manners though practice' and 'buildup teacher's moral manners in connectin with practice'

이 연구는 새로 개정된 초등교사 임용시험 중 ‘실과 수업능력 평가’에 대해 기초적인 자료를 제시하고자 수행되었다. 이를 위해 현장의 교사들이 보는 바람직한 실과수업 모습을 2차에 걸친 표적 집단 면접을 통해 추출하였고 이를 바탕으로 실과 교사에게 필요한 능력과 그 능력을 길러낼 교사 교육의 방향을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 첫째, 바람직한 실과 수업의 모습은 ‘일상생활과 실과 내용을 흥미롭게 통합한 수업’, ‘확산적 사고와 허용적 분위기가 형성된 수업’, ‘실습을 통해 절차적 지식이 함양된 실과수업’, 그리고 ‘체험 활동을 통해 올바른 태도가 형성된 수업’ 등으로 구분할 수 있었다.둘째, 이러한 바람직한 실과 수업을 위해 교사가 갖추어야 할 능력은 ‘일상생활과 실과 내용을 흥미롭게 통합한 수업’을 위해 ‘실과 내용에 대한 전반적인 지식’, ‘일상생활과 실과 내용을 통합하는 능력’, ‘학생의 관심과 요구 및 흥미에 대하여 정확하게 파악’, 그리고 ‘재구성한 교육과정에 대해 수업행정 업무 처리 능력’이며, ‘확산적 사고와 허용적 분위기가 형성된 수업’을 위해 ‘내용에 부합하는 확산적 발문 능력’, ‘확산적인 사고를 요하는 수업방법 활용’, ‘허용적인 교육환경 조성 능력’이다. 또한 ‘실습을 통해 절차적 지식이 함양된 실과수업’을 위해 필요한 능력은 ‘전 영역에 걸친 실습 능력과 실습지도 능력’, ‘실습에 대한 교사의 절차적 지식’, ‘현재 조건에서 활용할 수 있는 실습 소재 선택활용 및 개발 능력’, ‘습득한 절차적 지식의 생활적용 계획능력’이 된다. 그리고 마지막으로 ‘체험 활동을 통해 올바른 태도가 형성된 수업’을 위해 필요한 능력은 ‘체험과 연결된 덕목 파악능력’, ‘체험을 통한 인성 지도 능력’, ‘교사의 체험관련 인성 형성’임을 연구를 통해 알 수 있었다.셋째, 이러한 능력을 향상시키기 위해 교사 교육기관에서는 기존의 실과 교과교육학과 교육내용학의 지식과 실기 기능 습득 차원에서 머물지 않고 실과 수업능력과 관련된 실과 교사 교육과정의 개정 및 전환이 이루어 져야 할 것이다.
