The purpose of this study was to prospect the future of practical arts education and to propose strategies. To accomplish the purpose scenario planning method was used. And through the survey research four motives were established such as ‘grade and hours of completion’, ‘compulsory course or not', ‘subject title of ', and ‘teaching system'. In this study four scenarios as the future of practical arts education were identified. The four scenarios were ‘neo silsagusi' scenario, ‘again 6th' scenario, ‘germinating hope' scenario and ‘retrogression’ scenario. And some strategies were proposed to cope with each scenario, these strategies were related with joint efforts of constituent and competency of leading the reform, facing to the critical situation, accomplishing the demands, exercising influence of decision making, and driving forward to reform.

이 연구는 실과교육의 미래를 전망하고 그에 따른 대응 전략을 마련하기 위하여 수행되었다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해서 시나리오 플래닝 기법을 적용하였으며, 실과교육의 미래와 관련된 핵심 동인으로서 교과 명칭의 변경 여부, 필수 교과에서 선택 교과로의 전환 여부, 이수 학년과 이수 시수의 변경 여부, 초등 교수 체제의 전환 여부의 네 개 변인을 설정하고, 이를 바탕으로 하여 미래 실과교육을 1) ‘Neo 실사구시’, 2) ‘again 6th', 3) ‘희망 열기’, 4) ‘퇴락’과 같은 네 가지 시나리오로 제시하였다. 또한 각각의 시나리오별로 각각의 대응 전략을 제안하였으며 이러한 대응 전략의 핵심은 실과교육 관련 구성원의 결집력을 바탕으로 한 변화 주도력, 위기 대처력, 대외 요구 관철력, 대외 의사결정 영향력, 변화 추진력과 관련된다.
