Modernism influenced by Llluminism in the 18thcentury prioritized the rationalityso it emphasized only intelligence and concept and it caused human being to be degraded into the functional being. Starting from The movement toward the De-Kantism away from the Kantism is considered to be taken from around 1950 with the fundamental characteristic of Post-Modernism and this movement was originated from the strong criticism on the art against humanity. From the 1970s, a new trend was raising. After the Modernism, the art became inclined to have the characteristics of the Post-Modernism with the criticism on the past, efforts to escape from it and the prospects for the future. In order to explain the concept of Deconstruction of Jacques Derrida, four concepts are considered to be important. They can be summarized into Differance, Intertextuality, Undecidability, and Dis , De- phenomenon. In the art make-up design, it Deconstruction is expressed in the form of grotesque which has the characteristics of unnatural and unsound to decorate the human bodies with the artificial and sensational accessories to give salience to the decadent trend and/or make it sexually conspicuous. We found out in this study that the main characteristics which were shown on the art make-up are inharmony, artificiality, over-reaction, obscurity and burlesque expression

모더니즘은 18세기 계몽주의 영향 아래 합리성을 우선 하다 보니 지성과 개념의 일방적인 측면만을 강조하게 되었고 인간을 기능적으로 전락시키는 결과를 초래 하였다.반인간적 예술에 대한 한계의식과 비판을 발단으로 포스트모더니즘의 본질적 특성과 함께 초기의 칸트주의로부터 탈칸트주의로 나아가려는 움직임은 1950년경으로 보고 있고, 이에 1970년대를 정체기로 새로운 사조가 대두하게 되었고, 모더니즘 이후 과거에 대한 비판과 탈출, 전망과 해법, 나아가 미래에 대한 전망으로 포스트모더니즘의 성향을 띄게 된다.
