This study is aimed at exploring the moral elements in traditional plays and their implication on moral education in the light of methods and contents. In other words, it aims to identify traditional plays that have moral elements, to understand some methods of moral education based on the elements, and to prove and extend educational value of traditional plays. Moral education should cultivate moral character as well as improve students' autonomy. Traditional plays can help to achieve this. Traditional plays may enable students to encounter our traditional culture that has been disappearing in the field of moral education.
Virtue in traditional plays can help to pursue the solutions for some current problems, to awaken us to the necessity of moral education, and to identify certain methods for moral education.

본 연구에서는 전통 놀이 속에 나타난 덕목들이 무엇인지 살펴보고 도덕 교육에 주는 의의를 방법과 내용 측면에서 살펴보는 데 있다. 즉 도덕적 요소를 추출할 수 있는 전통 놀이를 찾고 그에 따른 여러 가지 도덕 교육적 방안을 알고 동시에 전통 놀이의 교육적 가치를 확인하고 보급하고자 하는 데 있다. 도덕교육은 개인의 자율성을 키워주면서 동시에 도덕적 덕성을 함양시켜 주어야한다. 이를 위해 전통 놀이가 그 역할을 해 줄 수 있을 것이다. 전통 놀이는 잊혀져가는 우리 것에 대한 자연스러운 만남을 도덕교육의 장을 통해 가능하게 해 줄 것이다. 전통놀이 속에 나타난 덕은 현재 나타나고 있는 여러 가지 위기 문제의 해결책을 찾는데 도움을 줄 것이고 오늘날 도덕 교육의 필요성과 방법을 찾게 해 줄 것이다.
