- The social system based on the modern industrial society is not flexible to the contemporary society needs. The contemporary society needs to new paradigm, and the fractal proposed as a blended idea. A purpose of this research is to understand how the fractal system related with a composition of the tradition village(in korea). The traditional village is guessed to have a little different situation of the modern. Although a village established for a long time is showed as
a chaotic system, but it is easily adapted with the program shifted according to the change of the social system. The fractal related on the theory of chaos and the open system explains the system of the tradition village. The fractal is summarized of three characteristics, Self-Similarity, Self-Production and Self-Organization. And they have an influence to compose the village by three elements. They are; ① The organic system and the identification. The village is understanded of an organic system organized with various urban items and it has an identification by Self-Similarity. ② The relationship of the urban composition by the size of organization, that is the enlargement or the reduction. The village is understanded of the organization composed by the facility and the utility established according to the size of it.
③ The non-linear and the sociality. The road of village is an appearance of the fractal system. It is composed of non-linear system correspond to a grid with regularity and it evokes the friendship in the society by lots of encounters. The fractal is a method of understanding villages. And the tradition village is the one of them which are framed by the fractal system.
