Children with Turner syndrome is likely to show inappropriate behaviors such as aggression and
inattention as a problem solving strategy, especially in social situations with peers and siblings. Literature indicates that their problem behaivor could be improved through appropriate training. In this study, behavior intervention (e.g., token economy, differential reinforcement for other behaviors) was implemented for a 8 year old girl with Turner syndrome and her twin sister to reduce their aggressive behaviors and promote prosocial behaviors. Three weeks after the intervention, the frequency of problematic behaviors was decreased and prosocial behaviors were increased. Possible reasons, implications and limitation of the therapeutic effect were discussed.

공격적 행동을 보이는 아동들은 그렇지 않은 집단에 비해 사회적 문제 해결 과정에서 좀 더 폭력적이고 덜 친사회적인 방법으로 접근하는 경향을 보이며, 이러한 경향은 또래 사이에서의 고립을 유도할 수 있다. 특히 형제․자매 간 관계가 부정적인 상호작용을 통해 유지될 경우 이러한 공격성과 비사회적인 경향은 더욱 커질 수 있기 때문에 형제․자매 관계에서의 지지와 관계 개선은 매우 중요하다. 이 연구에서는 다른행동 차별강화와 보상을 통해 공격성과 산만한 행동을 보이는 터너증후군 아동과 그 자매와의 부정적인 상호작용을 수용적인 문제해결 기술로 대체하고자 했으며, 3주간의 개입 결과 문제 행동은 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 효과가 나타난 원인과 이 개입의 의의, 한계점이 논의되었다.
