The purposes of the study are overview the memory training program and advise to develop
the program which suits to the older adults. The memory training program has been developed and based on the results of study of memory aging. The study of memory aging is divided into two perspectives, information processing and integrative perspective.
Information processing perspectives consider memory aging as inefficiency of memory stage
and deficit of specific memory system. Within the integrative perspectives, memory belief is
emphasized to explain older' adults memory performance. Traditional memory training
programs are composed of only memory strategy training. Mutifactorial memory training
program, based on preceding studies on memory aging in context, included factors which
were known for influencing older adults's memory performance. The study gives some
suggestions to develop the suitable program for the old in Korea after comparing and
examine the results of memory aging study and the memory training program.

본 연구의 목적은 기억 훈련 프로그램을 개관하고 우리나라 노인들에게 적합한 프로그램 개발을 위한 기초를 제공하는 것이다. 기억 훈련 프로그램은 기억력 노화에 대한 연구 결과를 기초로 개발한 것으로 크게 정보 처리적 관점과 맥락주의적 관점으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 정보 처리적 관점은 기억력 노화를 비효율적 저장과 인출 문제, 특정 기억 유형에서의 결함으로 보며, 맥락주의적 관점에서는 노인의 기억 수행에 영향을 미치는 기억 신념과 같은 요소를 강조하고 있다. 기억 훈련 프로그램은 크게 기억법만을 집중적으로 훈련시키는 전통적인 기억 훈련 프로그램과 기억법 훈련 요소에 노인의 기억 수행에 중요한 영향을 미치는 요소들을 첨가하여 구성한 다요인 기억 훈련 프로그램으로 나누어 볼 수 있겠다. 본 연구에서는 두 관점에서 나온 기억력과 노화에 대한 연구 결과를 개관하고 두 종류의 기억 훈련 프로그램을 비교 한 후 국내 노인에게 적합한 기억 훈련 프로그램을 개발을 위한 제언을 하였다
