Demands for discussion on integration between theoria and praxis(context) in Korean Christian education studies reflect contemporary and contextual needs. They ask for activation of studies toward praxis or praxis­oriented theoria, because they are caused by unsatisfactory praxis studies. The demands are enlarged by common unrealistic category of theoria and praxis, unprofessional thinking on academic studies, and literature study methods, even though Korean Christian education studies have not ever shown over­theoria propensity. New tasks of the fundamental study considering this demands are as follows：(1) thorough reconstruction of Christian education theories made by theological insights, into common educational style and system communicating with teachers, (2) study on Korean religions, world views, cultures, and modern ideologies which have deeply had influence on education, and positive suggestion of Christian alternatives, (3) much more historical studies on Korean Christian education for both understanding Korean education context and contributing to its realistic strategy, (4) giving basic education for field Christian educators and basic publications for them, (5) contribution to educational ministry through academic foundational analysis of contemporary church ministry models.

한국 기독교교육 연구에 있어서 이론과 실천(현장)의 새로운 만남을 위한 시도는 도도히 흐르는 시대적, 상황적 요청을 반영하고 있다. 그 요청은 실천에 대한 빈곤감에서 출발하고 있기 때문에 실천을 위한 연구의 활성화 그리고 실천적 이론을 위한 희망을 반영한다. 비록 한국 기독교교육 연구활동이 이론편향적인 것이라고 말하기 어려운 것이 사실이지만, 아직도 통용되는 비실제적인 이론과 실천의 카테고리, 실천을 위한 전문적 연구조차 이론으로 간주하는 비전문적 사회의 인식수준, 그리고 과도하게 편향된 문헌연구방법의 연구 현실은 실천에 대한 빈곤감을 더 키웠다. 이러한 현실을 극복하기 위한 기초이론분과의 과제 다음과 같다. 첫째, 신학적 통찰에서 출발한 기독교교육의 이론들이 교육학에서 통용되는 방식으로 재 구조화되어야 한다. 둘째, 한국인들의 종교, 세계관, 문화, 이데올로기들과 교육의 관계를 심층적으로 검토하고 기독교교육의 차별성과 대안을 제시해야 한다. 셋째, 한국 기독교교육의 역사에 대한 심도 있는 기초적 연구로 현장에 대한 이해를 심화하고 현실적인 전략 수립에 기여해야 한다. 넷째, 기독교교육 현장 전문가들의 실천적 전문성을 제고하기 위한 기초 교양교육의 과제가 있다. 다섯째, 교육학적 이론체계를 통하여 현대목회 모델들을 분석함으로써 교육목회의 전문화에 기여해야 할 과제가 있다.
