Aggressive and withdrawn children in Korean: Differences in perception by peer Teacher, and self-Perception in Multiple Domains

The present study is to examine the relationship of ratings given by teacher, peer, and self on aggression and withdrawal. A total of 264 fourth and fifth grade children(134males, 130females) participated in the present study. These children were taken from 8 classrooms of a elemental five schools in Seoul. Children's ages ranged from 10 to 12, with a mean age of 10.59years. The results of the present study demonstrated that the degree of agreement on aggression and withdrawal between different types of observers differed considerably. Results indicated that peer-teacher agreement was the highest in the rating of aggression, while peer-self agrement was the highest in the rating of withdrawal, and teacher evaluations on aggressive-withdrawn children's self-concept showed that this group of children exhibited the greatest number of problems in every domain.

    한국일본교육학회는 1985년 2월 27일, 한국과 일본의 교육학 연구의 정립과 발전을 목적으로 그 역사적인 첫 발을 내딛은 이래 지금까지 양국 교육학의 이해에 많이 기여했다. 오늘날 우리나라 교육학 전공학자는 수천 명에 이르고 있으며, 전공의 다양성은 물론, '지역연구'의 영역 또한 매우 광범위하게 펼쳐 있다. 우리나라 교육학의 외연을 살찌게 하기 위해서는 무엇보다 되도록 수많은 지역과 나라에 걸친 광범위한 '지역교육연구'가 활발하게 전개되는 것이라 하겠다. 그러나 이러한 시대적 요청에도 불구하고 우리나라 지역교육연구의 현실은 그 지역의 다양성과 교육학적 이해에 있어서 매우 척박한 실정이다. 이런 부진한 지역연구의 현실 속에서 본 학회는 아시아 지역, 그 중에서도 특히 '일본교육' 연구에 초점을 두고, 운영하고 있다는 것은 교육학계에서 선도적 역할을 수행하고 있는 것이다.
