I think that the intensive teachings of our traditional decorums are the sole and best way to bettering our impoverished conditions of culture and civilization. And such teachings have to be based on the complete and exact understanding of our traditional decorums. Therefore I make a critical analysis of the korean traditional ethics education in the 7th curriculum of the moral education in the secondary school. Firstly, the integrated approach to our traditional decorums in respect of virtue ethics and act ethics is hardly found. Secondly, the integrated approach to our traditional decorums in respect of teleology and deontology is not found satisfyingly. Most of contents in the texts are deontology-one-sided. Thirdly, the liberalist view and the communitarian view of our traditional decorums must be integrated. However, the greater part of the contents in the text are composed of the communitarian view of our traditional decorums.

전통예절에 대한 교육은 반드시 그것에 대한 올바른 이해에 바탕을 두고 이루어져야 할 것이다. 이런 관점에서 필자는 윤리이론의 측면에서 전통 예절을 이해하고, 그것에 바탕을 두고 기존 교과서 내용을 비판적으로 검토하였다. 첫째, 덕 윤리와 행위(규범)윤리간의 통합성과 관련하여, 전통 예절교육의 원리에 따라 ‘몸 수양’(=행위(규범)윤리)과 ‘마음 수양’(=덕 윤리)이 통합적으로 이루어져야 함에도 불구하고 현행 교육과정에서의 전통윤리교육은 그렇지 못하다고 생각한다. 둘째, 목적윤리와 의무윤리의 통합성과 관련하여, 통합적으로 접근한 내용은 대단히 드물고, 어느 한 가지-일방적인 내용이 많으며, 대체적으로는 의무윤리-일방적인 내용이 대부분이었다고 생각한다. 셋째, 전통윤리교육은 자유주의와 공동체주의의 통합적 관점에서 이루어져야 할 것으로 생각한다. 그런데, 교과서의 내용은 여전히 공동체주의-일방적인 관점에서 벗어나지 못하고 있다고 생각한다.
