The use of narrative is important in almost all forms of education and moral education. Everywhere one looks in academy days, theory is out and narrative is in. This article proposes that Narratives are a central factor in a person's moral development. Support for this position comes from recent theoretical contributions of Narrative Ethics. There are several different conceptions of Narrative Ethics, and each carries significantly different implications for the question of moral justification. In this essay I have canvassed three distinct approaches to relationship of Narrative Ethics to ethical justification. Narrative is a crucial element of all ethical analysis, and we would all do better to be more self-conscious about the literary nature of ethical understanding and assessment. It remains to be seen, however, whether narrative will ever be in position to supplant an ethics also undergirded by principles and theory. They have emphasized narrative thought as a major form of cognition that is qualitatively different from abstract propositional or scientific thinking. In addition, We need more sophisticated programs according to teaching goals and students' levels, and need to make those programs work well in our moral education.

서사의 활용은 도덕교육뿐 아니라 모든 분야의 교육에서 그 중요성을 더해간다. 지금 우리는 많은 학문 영역에서 이론이 뒷걸음치는 대신 서사가 부상되는 것을 보고 있다. 도덕교육에서 이러한 입장을 최근 부상하고 있는 서사윤리학의 제 입장들을 통해 논변하였다. 서사윤리학은 몇몇 상이한 입장이 존재하며, 그 각각은 도덕적 정당화의 물음에 의미 있는 그러나 상이한 함의를 제시한다. 이 글은 서사윤리학이란 무엇이며, 또 서사윤리학은 어떠한 입장을 가지는지에 그리고 그것은 어떤 도덕교육적 의미를 가지는 지에 대한 내용이다. 서사윤리학의 제 입장들은 도덕교육의 서사적 접근방법 구안의 토대가 될 것이다. 서사윤리학에 대한 바른 이해와 동시에 우리는 학습 목표와 학생들의 수준에 적합한 더욱 잘 만들어진 서사를 활용한 교육 프로그램을 필요로 한다. 도덕교육 방법에서 그동안 지배적이던 명제적 접근을 서사적 접근으로 전환시키기 위한 연구와 노력으로 도덕교육이 추구하는 목표에 효율적으로 도달할 수 있는 기회가 되기를 바란다.
