This study is contrived as a pre-study of next revision of elementary 『Moral』 and as a part of
making a good textbook of elementary moral education. It has been limited to repairing only inner
form and substance of moral education about next revision of curriculum of moral education. But in the strict sense, we need to contrive a new design in correspondence with its contents to make a new textbook and the quality of the textbook depends on how these two elements are combined organically.
Therefore we have to discuss restructuring not only inner structure of the textbook but also outer form which gives shape to a new textbook. Especially in the case of elementary moral ducation, changes of learner's consciousness and view points make it difficult to teach elementary moral learning effectively, so it is not sufficient to convey the intended message only with the external form of the present elementary 『Moral』 . Therefore we have to construct an external form appropriate to their visual level and the ability of concentrating attention and consider this matter from various angles. From this point of view, although this study is restrictive on some elements, I intend to examine problems of present elementary 『Moral』 and find solution. Through it I hope that this study will help make a good quality textbook elementary 『Moral』 in next revision.

본 연구는 차기 초등 『도덕』개정에 있어 사전연구로서 그리고 양질의 초등 도덕과 교과서를 만들기 위한 노력의 일환으로서 그 의미를 가진다. 그 동안 차기 도덕과 교육과정 개정 논의에서는 교과서의 내용 체제의 재정비에만 국한되어 논의가 이루어져 왔을 뿐이다. 그러나 엄밀한 의미에서 하나의 교과서가 나오기 위해서는 내용뿐만 아니라 그에 상응하는 디자인 또한 구상될 필요가 있으며, 이 두 요소가 얼마나 유기적으로 결합되느냐에 따라 교과서의 질이 결정된다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 내용의 재정비뿐만 아니라 이를 효율적으로 구체화할 수 있는 외형적 모습또한 구체적으로 논의될 필요가 있다. 특히 초등 도덕과의 경우 학습자들의 의식 및 시각의 변화는 기존의 방식으로는 초등 도덕학습을 효율화하는데 상당한 어려움이 있을 뿐만 아니라 기존의 초등 󰡔도덕󰡕과 같은 외형적 구성방식으로는 그들에게 교과 내용을 효과적으로 전달하는데 무리가 뒤따른다. 따라서 그들의 시각에 적합화된 그리고 그들의 관심과 흥미를 집중시킬 수 있는 외적 형태를 갖출 필요가 있으며, 이를 위한 다각도의 노력이 요구된다. 이와 같은 측면에서 본 연구는 비록 제한적으로 몇 개의 항목에 국한되어 있기는 하지만 현행 초등 󰡔도덕󰡕의 외적 체제면에서의 문제점들을 살펴보고, 이를 위한 해결 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 이를 통해 차기 초등『도덕』개정 작업에서 양질의 교과서를 만드는 일에 일조하고자 한다.
