A number of political theorists in recent years have focused on the alternative democratic system. The history of democracy dates back to the political culture in the 19～20th century. Especially, a study of the Weimar Republic is of vital importance to us, as it's failure can be a stepping stone to our success. The Weimar Republic constitution had cut a conspicuous figure in the modern political history. This work aiming to explain the cause of collapse of the Weimar Republic reveals a critical point to us in the contemporary democracy project. Above all, the primary cause of the failure could be attributed to the Great Depression. Another factor can be due to the German political culture. The latter is more important to us, for other nations in the Europe endured that time, but only the Weimar Republic was collapsed. Thus this article has focused on the internal affairs. However, the Deutch overcame their failure, and developed gradually the outstanding democratic system in the world. We have a common point with the Deutch in the political culture sphere. We have not experience an upward social revolution, too. The most important thing is that the Deutch had built up a better system going through the Darkness of the Nazis with reflexive reasoning power. We should learn the lessons for the our future.
