This cross-sectional descriptive comparative study examined factors associated with adaptation to college life among nursing students in relation to companion animal ownership. Participants were 141 nursing students, including 70 companion animal owners and 71 nonowners. The companion animal-owning group had significantly higher scores for adaptation to college life than the non-owning group (t=5.093, p<.001), whereas no significant between-group differences were found in active stress coping (t=0.025, p=.980), passive stress coping (t=0.283, p=.778), or ego-resilience (t=1.218, p=.226). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that companion animal ownership (β=−.362, p<.001) and ego-resilience (β=.314, p<.001) were significantly associated with adaptation to college life. Therefore, companion animal ownership and ego-resilience should be considered when understanding adaptation to college life among nursing students, and future studies involving students from diverse universities are needed to reexamine these associations.

Ever since next generation convergence technology became one of the most important industries in the nation, computing professionals have encountered a growing number of challenges. Along with scholars and colleagues in related fields, they have gathered in avariety of forums and meetings over the last few decades to share their knowledge, experiences and the outcome of their research. These exchanges have led to the founding of the International Next-generation Convergence technology (INCA) on December 1, 2015. INCA was registered as an incorporated association under the Ministry of Information and Communications. The main purpose of the organization is to improve our society by achieving the highest capability possible in next generation convergence technology.
