Long-term care hospital nurses play a central role in providing continuous care to patients at the end of life; however, little is known about the supportive behaviors and obstacles associated with their end-of-life care (EoLC) performance. This descriptive correlational study examined the effects of EoLC supportive behaviors and obstacles on EoLC performance among long-term care hospital nurses. Data were collected from November 1 to 25, 2024, using a structured questionnaire. A total of 158 responses were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 25.0 using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple linear regression. Significant factors influencing EoLC performance were the perception level of EoLC supportive behaviors (β=.33, p<.001), the experience level of EoLC obstacles (β=-.22, p=.004), and previous EoLC education (β=.17, p=.027). These variables explained 21% of the variance in EoLC performance. We found that improving nurses' awareness of supportive behaviors, reducing obstacles encountered in clinical practice, and providing systematic EoLC education tailored to the needs of long-term care hospital nurses are essential. This study provides a basis for developing intervention strategies at the individual, educational, and organizational levels to improve EoLC performance among long-term care hospital nurses.

요양병원 간호사는 생애말 환자에게 지속적인 간호를 제공하는 핵심 인력이지만, 생애말 간호수행에 영향을 미치는 지지요인과 장애요인에 대한 연구는 부족하다. 본 연구는 요양병원 간호사의 생애말 간호 지지요인과 장애요인이 생애말 간호수행에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위해 시행한 서술적 상관관계 연구이다. 자료는 2024년 11월 1일부터 11월 25일까지 구조화된 설문지를 이용하여 수집하였으며, 최종 158명의 자료를 SPSS/WIN 25.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 생애말 간호수행의 유의한 영향요인은 생애말 간호 지지요인의 인식 정도(β=.33, p<.001), 생애말 간호 장애요인의 경험 정도(β=-.22, p=.004), 생애말 간호교육 경험(β=.17, p=.027) 순으로 나타났으며, 이들 변수의 설명력은 21%였다. 우리는 본 연구를 통해 생애말 간호 지지요인에 대한 인식을 높이고 임상현장의 장애요인을 감소시키며, 요양병원 간호사의 교육 요구를 반영한 체계적인 생애말 간호교육을 제공하는 것이 필요함을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 요양병원 간호사의 생애말 간호수행을 향상하기 위한 개인·교육·조직 수준의 중재 전략을 마련하는 데 기초자료를 제공한다.
