This study examined the mediating effect of resilience between self-oriented and socially prescribed perfectionism and academic stress among 151 medical students. Data were analyzed using correlation analysis and Hayes' PROCESS Macro Model 4, with one perfectionism subdimension entered as a covariate when testing the other and indirect effects verified through 5,000 bootstrap resamples. Neither subdimension had a direct effect on academic stress, but both were significantly associated with it through resilience. Self-oriented perfectionism formed a protective pathway by enhancing resilience and reducing stress, whereas socially prescribed perfectionism formed a risk pathway by diminishing resilience and increasing stress. By distinguishing perfectionism into its subdimensions and clarifying the mediating role of resilience, this study provides foundational data for interventions and programs aimed at managing academic stress and enhancing resilience among medical students.

본 연구는 의과대학생을 대상으로 완벽주의의 하위차원인 자기지향 완벽주의 및 사회부과 완벽주의와 학업스트레스의 관계에서 회복탄력성이 갖는 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 151명의 의과대학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 Pearson 적률상관분석과 Hayes의 PROCESS Macro Model 4를 활용하여 분석하였다. 두 완벽주의 하위차원이 서로 정적 상관을 보이는 점을 고려하여 다른 차원을 공변량으로 통제하였고, 간접효과의 유의성은 부트스트래핑 5,000회를 통해 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 두 완벽주의 하위차원은 학업스트레스에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않았으나, 회복탄력성을 매개로 학업스트레스와 유의하게 관련되었다. 자기지향 완벽주의는 회복탄력성을 높여 학업스트레스를 낮추는 보호적 경로를, 사회부과 완벽주의는 회복탄력성을 낮춰 학업스트레스를 높이는 위험 경로를 보임으로써, 두 하위차원이 회복탄력성을 매개로 서로 다른 방향으로 작용함을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 완벽주의를 하위차원으로 구분하고 두 차원을 상호 통제한 상태에서 회복탄력성의 매개 역할을 규명하였다는 데 의의가 있으며, 의과대학생의 학업스트레스 관리와 회복탄력성 증진을 위한 교육적·상담적 개입과 프로그램 개발의 기초 자료를 제공한다.
