This study aimed to identify the effect of smartphone addiction on adolescents' perception of cyber delinquency and to verify the mediating effect of the sub-factors of empathy (expressive, cognitive, emotional empathy) in the process. Data from the 14th wave (2021) of the Korean Children's Panel was analyzed on 1,299 participants. Pearson correlations were calculated to examine the relationships between variables, and a parallel multiple mediation model was analyzed using PROCESS MACRO 4 to examine the mediating effect of empathy (expressive, cognitive, and emotional) on smartphone addiction and the perception of cyber delinquency.The analysis results showed that smartphone addiction did not have a direct impact on the perception of cyber delinquency, but it had a negative effect on all sub-factors of empathy. Among the empathy sub-factors, only cognitive empathy and emotional empathy were found to have a significant influence on the perception of cyber delinquency, and a complete mediating effect of cognitive empathy and emotional empathy was observed.These results suggest that there exists a psychological pathway in which smartphone addiction lowers cognitive and emotional empathy levels, consequently distorting perceptions of delinquency. Therefore, strategies to prevent cyber delinquency among adolescents should go beyond simply restricting smartphone usage time and should be accompanied by emotional education programs designed to restore and cultivate diminished empathy.

본 연구는 청소년을 대상으로 스마트폰 중독이 사이버 비행 인식에 미치는 영향력을 파악하고, 그 과정에서 공감 하위요인(표현적, 인지적, 정서적 공감)의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 한국아동패널 14차년도(2021년) 자료로 1299명을 대상으로 분석하였다. 변인간의 관계를 살펴보가가 Pearson의 상관관계를 산출하였고, 스마트폰 중독과 사이버 비행 인식에 있어 공감(표현적, 인지적, 정서적)의 매개효과를 살펴보기 위해 PROCESS MACRO 4를 활용하여 병렬 다중매개모형으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 스마트폰 중독은 사이버 비행 인식에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않았고, 스마트폰 중독은 공감의 하위요인 모두에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 공감 하위요인 중에서는 인지적 공감과 정서적 공감만이 사이버 비행 인식에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고. 인지적 공감과 정서적 공감의 완전 매개 효과가 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 스마트폰 중독이 인지적·정서적 공감 수준을 저하 시켜 결과적으로 비행 인식을 왜곡하는 심리적 경로가 존재한다고 볼 수 있다. 따라서 청소년 사이버 비행 예방 전략은 단순한 스마트폰 사용 시간의 제한적 통제를 넘어, 저하된 공감 능력을 회복하고 함양할 수 있는 정서 교육 프로그램이 병행되어야 할 것이다.
