This study aimed to examine the health consultation characteristics of companion dogs using a companion animal culture center in U Region from a preventive veterinary perspective. Health questionnaires and veterinary consultation records of 153 companion dogs participating in a free health consultation program from January to December 2025 were analyzed. A case study design was used to identify the dogs’ general characteristics, owners’ perceived health concerns, and health issues identified during veterinary consultations. Frequencies and percentages were calculated, and cross-tabulation was used to descriptively compare owners’ health perceptions with consultation results. Because several health categories had low observed frequencies, statistical significance testing was not conducted. The results showed differences between owners’ perceived health concerns and health issues identified during consultations. These findings suggest that community-based health consultation programs may contribute to the early identification of potential health concerns, owner education, and preventive veterinary care. However, because this study was conducted at a single center in one region with a limited number of cases, the findings should be interpreted as exploratory evidence. Further multicenter studies with larger samples are needed to strengthen evidence for preventive veterinary approaches to community-based companion animal health management.
