This study analyzes William Forsythe’s Human Writes (2005) from the perspective of social performativity, focusing on how legal and literary texts are performatively reconstructed through the body. Grounded in performativity theory, body politics, and intertextuality, the study examines the interaction between text, body, and audience within performance. The findings reveal that the open performance structure creates a space of collective performativity, while the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is transformed into a sensory and bodily experience through repetitive writing actions and physical movement. In addition, literary references and auditory elements function as performative signs that expose the relationship between power and the body. Consequently, Human Writes can be understood as a political artwork that renews legal text as an ongoing performative practice through bodily action, sensory experience, and audience participation.
