The purpose of this study is to explore the life-historical experiences and meanings of non-majors who challenge professional Korean dance degree programs. As the number of non-majors aiming for professional achievement has recently increased, we looked into the identity confusion and gap experienced by middle-aged women who have reserved their dreams in the past when they re-enter dance education. To this end, a 'narrative inquiry' was conducted targeting one non-majors who went on to the degree program. As a result of the study, it was found that the process of obtaining a dance degree has the meaning of a life-historical event that sublimates the helplessness of a housewife into art and reconstructs the artistic identity that was cut off. This study is significant in that it contributes to the expansion of dance studies and securing diversity in dance education in the future by presenting new possibilities of dance education to women in the transition period.
