Purpose of Research : This study aims to explore the process through which Christian parents of school-aged children practice faith-based parenting and the psychosocial experiences they encounter in that process. The goal is to develop an integrated understanding of actual parenting phenomena within Christian families and to provide foundational data for the clinical integration of Christian counseling and Christian education. Research Content and Methods : To achieve this purpose, in-depth interviews were conducted with 11 Christian parents of school-aged children. The collected data were analyzed using Colaizzi’s (1978) phenomenological method in order to derive the essential structure of their faith-based parenting experiences. Conclusion and Suggestions : The analysis yielded 43 formulated meanings, 16 themes, and 8 categories. First, in the area of faith-based intervention in the parenting process, parents showed efforts to establish age-appropriate habits of faith training, to guide their children’s Christian character, to discern non-Christian culture, and to use media in faith-oriented ways. Second, in the area of psychosocial experiences, parents became aware of the influence of their own family-of-origin faith, felt anxiety about their children’s exposure to secular culture, and experienced pressure to serve as religious role models. At the same time, they reinterpreted problematic situations as opportunities for faith growth and experienced God’s grace and a sense of fulfillment. This study is significant in that it reveals the dynamic process through which Christian parents, despite the burdens of parenting, grow spiritually together with their children through faith-based intervention. Based on these findings, the study suggests Christian counseling strategies and educational implications for supporting the parenting of school-aged children in Christian families.

연구 목적 : 본 연구는 학령기 자녀를 양육하는 기독교 가정 부모가 신앙적 양육을 실천하는 과정과 그 과정에서 경험하는 심리사회적 경험을 심층적으로 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 통해 기독교 부모의 실제적인 양육 경험을 통합적으로 이해하고, 나아가 기독교 상담 및 교육의 임상적 통합을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 연구내용 및 방법 : 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 학령기 자녀를 둔 기독교 가정 부모 11명을 대상으로 심층 면담을 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 Colaizzi(1978)의 현상학적 연구 방법을 적용하여 분석함으로써 기독교적 양육 경험의 본질적 구조를 도출하였다. 결론 및 제언 : 분석 결과 43개의 구성의미와 16개의 주제, 8개의 범주가 도출되었다. 주요 결과로 첫째, ‘양육 과정에서의 기독교적 개입’ 영역에서는 자녀의 발달 수준에 적합한 신앙 훈련의 습관화, 신앙적 성품 지도, 비기독교 문화 분별 및 미디어 선용을 위한 노력이 나타났다. 둘째, ‘심리사회적 경험’ 영역에서는 원가족 신앙 경험의 영향 실감, 세속 문화 노출에 대한 염려, 신앙적 모델링에 대한 압박감을 경험하는 동시에, 문제 상황을 신앙 성장의 기회로 선용하며 하나님의 은혜와 보람을 경험하는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구는 기독교 부모들이 양육의 고충 속에서도 신앙적 개입을 통해 자녀와 함께 영적으로 성장해가는 역동적 과정을 밝혔다는 데 의의가 있다. 이를 토대로 학령기 자녀 양육 지원을 위한 기독교 상담 전략과 교육적 제언을 제시하였다.
