Purpose of Research : The purpose of this study is to reinterpret MBTI, which has become widespread in contemporary youth culture, not merely as a personality assessment tool but as a language of self-understanding, and to examine it from the perspective of Christian education in relation to the formation of adolescents' faith identity. Based on this perspective, the study aims to propose educational approaches that connect adolescents' desire for self-understanding with the development of faith identity. Research Content and Method : This study was conducted through a literature review. It examined domestic and international studies on the socio-cultural significance of MBTI, adolescents' self-understanding, identity, and faith identity, and reinterpreted MBTI as a language of self-understanding. Furthermore, the study explored the characteristics of adolescents' faith identity formation and proposed Christian educational approaches that emphasize self-understanding as the starting point of faith education, the integration of self-understanding through the understanding of God, faith identity formation within the faith community, and Christian education in the digital age. Conclusion and Suggestions : The findings indicate that MBTI functions not as a criterion for defining adolescents' identity but as a language through which they understand and express themselves. Therefore, Christian education should focus not on MBTI itself but on the underlying desire for self-understanding and identity exploration, connecting these needs to the formation of faith identity. This study is significant in that it reinterprets MBTI from the perspective of Christian education and presents educational directions for fostering adolescents' faith identity. Future research should develop practical educational programs based on the proposed framework and examine their educational effectiveness in Christian educational settings.

연구 목적 : 본 연구는 현대 청소년 문화 속에서 확산되고 있는 MBTI를 단순한 성격유형 검사로 이해하기 보다 청소년들의 자기이해의 언어로 해석하고, 이를 청소년 신앙정체성 형성과 관련하여 기독교교육학적으로 재해석하는 데 있다. 이를 통해 청소년들의 자기이해 욕구를 신앙정체성 형성과 연결할 수 있는 기독교교육적 접근 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구내용 및 방법 : 본 연구는 문헌연구를 중심으로 수행되었다. MBTI의 사회문화적 의미와 청소년의 자기이해, 정체성 및 신앙정체성 관련 국내외 연구를 분석하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 MBTI를 자기이해의 언어로 재해석하였다. 또한 청소년 신앙정체성 형성의 특징을 고찰하고, 자기이해를 출발점으로 하는 신앙교육, 하나님 이해를 통한 신앙적 자기이해, 신앙공동체와 디지털 시대를 고려한 기독교교육적 접근을 제안하였다. 결론 및 제언 : 연구 결과, MBTI는 청소년들의 정체성을 규정하는 기준이 아니라 자신을 이해하고 표현하기 위한 자기이해의 언어로 기능하고 있음을 확인하였다. 기독교교육은 MBTI 자체에 초점을 두기보다 그 이면에 있는 자기이해와 정체성 탐색의 욕구를 신앙정체성 형성과 연결할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 MBTI를 기독교교육학적으로 재해석하고 청소년 신앙정체성 형성을 위한 교육적 방향을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의를 지닌다. 향후에는 이를 실제 기독교교육 현장에 적용하고 교육적 효과를 검증하는 실천적 연구가 이루어질 필요가 있다.
