This study examines the implementation of an online Korean language pre-training program for international students entering vocational high schools in Korea. The study explores the program’s feasibility while also considering the absence of a systematic curriculum and the divergent stakeholder expectations that emerged during implementation. A seven-week intensive online program, based on a task-supported approach, was designed and implemented for six prospective students. The program combined synchronous Zoom instruction with asynchronous tasks and feedback delivered via Google Classroom. A post-program satisfaction survey and open-ended responses served as the primary data. Task and feedback records and post-program TOPIK exam results served as supplementary data. Educational offices, schools, and partner industries differed in the Korean-language competencies and the performance indicators they expected. These differences affected both instructional content and program operations. Learner satisfaction was high (4.81), and all participants identified situational speaking tasks as the most useful activity. All six participants attained Level 1 on the TOPIK exam. Since no standardized pre-test was conducted, the TOPIK exam results are interpreted not as evidence of the program's effectiveness but as a supplementary external reference indicating the proficiency participants reached after the program. This study is significant in that it explores the feasibility and learner acceptance of online Korean language pre-training for international students entering vocational high schools and adds the vital element of the level of actual teaching and learning practices to previous discussions, which have largely focused on policy and current conditions.

본 연구는 직업계고 입학 예정 외국인 유학생을 대상으로 실시한 입학 전 온라인 한국어교육의 운영 사례를 살펴보고, 프로그램의 실행 가능성을 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 아울러 프로그램 운영 과정에서 나타난 교육과정의 부재와 이해관계자 간 요구 차이를 현장적 맥락에서 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 직업계고 입학 예정 외국인 유학생 6명을 대상으로 7주간 과제 지원형(task-supported) 접근을 적용한 온라인 한국어 집중 프로그램을 설계·운영하였다. 프로그램은 Zoom 기반 동기식 수업과 Google Classroom 기반 비동기식 과제 수행을 결합하여 운영하였으며, 프로그램 종료 후 실시한 만족도 조사와 자유 응답을 주요 분석 자료로, 과제·피드백 기록과 사후 한국어능력시험 결과를 보조 자료로 활용하였다. 분석 결과, 교육청·학교·산업체가 요구하는 한국어 능력과 성과 지표가 서로 달랐으며, 이러한 요구 혼재는 실제 교육 내용과 운영 방식에도 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 학습자 만족도는 전체 평균 4.81점으로 높게 나타났으며, 참여자 전원이 상황 제시 말하기 과제를 가장 유용한 활동으로 선택하였다. 사후 TOPIK에서는 참여자 6명 모두 1급을 취득하였다. 다만 사전 표준화 검사를 실시하지 않았으므로 TOPIK 결과는 프로그램의 효과를 검증하는 자료가 아니라 프로그램 참여 후 도달한 성취 수준을 보여주는 보조적 외부 준거로 해석하였다. 본 연구는 직업계고 외국인 유학생 대상 입학 전 온라인 한국어교육의 실행 가능성과 학습자 수용도를 탐색하고, 정책·현황 중심으로 이루어져 온 기존 논의를 교수·학습 실행 차원으로 확장하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
