P2P-Based Lightweight Authentication for Industrial IoT Platforms : Securing Equipment and Workforce Data Exchange
This study re-evaluates a P2P-based IoT authentication protocol for industrial platforms, identifying vulnerabilities like Pid predictability, Chord storage pollution, insider abuse, and compliance gaps. Our improved protocol integrates data-context-bound Pids, policy epochs, audit nonces, and distributed key indexing. Crucially, it aligns access scope and retention with privacy and employment laws. Simulations show enhanced security with minimal overhead, balancing robust industrial data governance with operational continuity.
