This study aims to analyze the patterns and aspects of booster expressions in Korean lecture texts. In lecture discourse, boosters serve as key focal points that ease listeners' comprehension of advanced-level topics while functioning as strategic devices to build speaker credibility and trust. Accordingly, this study examines the topics and proficiency levels of lecture texts within Korean language education, specifically analyzing booster expressions featured in the lecture listening texts of the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK). Based on existing literature, booster expressions were classified into four categories: certainty, degree, intentionality, and truthfulness. A total of 275 booster expressions were extracted from 65 lecture texts. Among them, certainty accounted for the highest frequency (49.8%), followed by degree (36.3%), intentionality (9.5%), and truthfulness (4.4%). This distribution is closely related to the generic characteristics of lecture discourse as both public discourse and assessment texts, which primarily aim to deliver specialized information and verify listening comprehension. Functionally, certainty decisively asserts the truth value of a proposition, thereby easing the listener's cognitive load and highlighting core information. In TOPIK texts, in particular, the public nature of lecture discourse intersects with the evaluative purposes of the test, leading to a high frequency of certainty boosters that reinforce proposition validity and enhance listener acceptability. Boosters of degree clarify the expository structure by modulating the intensity and hierarchical importance of information, whereas intentionality boosters establish discourse direction in the conclusion of lectures by outlining the speaker's plans or future outlook. Boosters of truthfulness are used selectively where securing factual accuracy or urging judgment and action is required. This study holds scholarly significance by expanding the scope of research on booster expressions—previously concentrated on academic written texts—into spoken public discourse in the form of lecture texts.
