This study investigated the current status of beauty waste management in Korean beauty service establishments and explored directions for establishing a sustainable management system. A survey was conducted with 215 beauty service professionals, and the data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, one-way ANOVA, and the Borich Needs Assessment Model. The results revealed significant differences in chemical waste disposal practices according to beauty specialty and in management constraints and needs according to salon size. Dedicated collection systems were rarely used, while government-supported collection infrastructure, standardized waste management guidelines, and mobile-based collection platforms were identified as the highest priority needs. Based on these findings, this study proposes a digital-based beauty waste management framework integrating institutional support, standardized guidelines, and digital management services. The proposed framework provides practical implications for improving environmental sustainability and establishing an efficient beauty waste management system.

본 연구는 국내 미용서비스업 종사자를 대상으로 미용폐기물 관리 실태를 조사하고 지속가능한 관리체계 구축 방향을 제시하고자 수행되었다. 미용 종사자 215명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 기술통계, 교차분석, 일원분산분석, Borich 요구도 분석을 활용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 미용 분야에 따라 화학 미용폐기물 처리 방식에 유의한 차이가 나타났으며, 매장 규모에 따라 관리 제약과 관리체계 요구도에 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 또한 전용 수거체계, 표준 관리지침, 모바일 기반수거 플랫폼이 우선적으로 개선되어야 할 항목으로 도출되었다. 이를 바탕으로 본 연구는 제도적 지원, 표준 관리지침, 디지털 관리서비스를 통합한 디지털 기반 미용폐기물 관리체계를 제안하였다. 본 연구는 미용서비스업의 지속가능한 환경관리와 디지털 융복합 기반 관리정책 수립을 위한 기초자료를 제공한다.
