This study aims to explore how a transition from presence mediated by an objectified (third-person) image to a first-person sensory presence is possible, taking the team creation and performance process of the convergence arts course "Women's Bodies and Creative Movement” as a case study. Today's young generation faces bodily conditions defined as the "self-panopticon” and the "achievement body,” constantly monitoring and displaying themselves as third-person images within digital media (such as self-logging) and an achievement-oriented society. As an educational practice to interrupt the repetition of these conditions, this study proposes the concept of "de-performance.” De-performance is an intentional practice of suspending three layers of performance: media standards, the evaluative other, and task performativity. Instructors mediate this through three feedback principles: do not try to show, turn off the audience's gaze, and do not aim for completion. While previous research on somatics education has confirmed the recovery of sensation within the protected time and space of the classroom, this study traces the entire process through which that sensation passes through the public setting of performance and transfers into everyday life. The results revealed that the students' experiences progressed through four stages—resistance, withdrawal, immersion, and presence— ultimately culminating in a transition from the observed "body” to the lived "soma.” In particular, when the physical setting of a small theater's dark auditorium was combined with the semester-long educational process, the stage transformed from a site of being watched and evaluated into a space where first-person sensory presence is realized. Furthermore, reflective writing analysis confirmed that this sensory awareness transcended the protected boundaries of the classroom and stage, transferring into everyday life as an ability to independently shift from an evaluated body to the felt body. In conclusion, the proposition "all movement is dance” signifies that beyond refined techniques, any movement of a subjective body communicating its own experience with others is in itself already dance and art. It is hoped that this study will serve as a practical case for convergence arts education in an age of media saturation. However, as this study is based on a single course case, its application across diverse educational conditions and the persistence of transfer remain tasks for future research.
