This study aims to investigate the implications of Mozi's Universal Love on unification education. Today, unification education in Korea has been predominantly based on a nationalism-centered approach emphasizing ethnic homogeneity and the necessity of unification. However, this approach is losing persuasiveness among younger generations who have no direct experience of national division. The study thus emphasizes the importance of a new paradigm of unification education grounded in universal values such as peace, human rights, and social justice. Accordingly, this paper explores the implications of Mozi's Universal Love for unification education, as Mozi's Universal Love describes equal love for all people regardless of blood ties, class, or nationality. Thus Mozi's Universal Love, based on equality, peaceful coexistence, and social justice, can contribute to building a theoretical framework for unification education that goes beyond ethnic necessity toward universal human love and peaceful coexistence.

본 연구는 통일에 대한 무관심과 회의론이 확산되는 현실 속에서 기존 민족주의 중심 통일교육의 한계를 진단하고, 묵자의 겸애사상이 새로운 통일교육 패러다임에 제공할 수 있는 윤리적 함의를 탐구하였다. 묵자의 겸상애 교상리, 시인여기, 천하무인, 비공 개념을 분석한 결과, 겸애사상은 통일교육이 지향해야 할 평화공존과 사회정의의 가치와 깊이 연결됨을 확인하였다. 묵자의 겸애사상은 민족적 당위성을 넘어 보편적 인간애와 평화로운 공존에 기반한 통일교육의 사상적 토대를 제공한다.
