The purpose of this study was to explore the directions and principles of sports pedagogy in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). This study draws on the line "Boxing is an unnatural act" from the film Million Dollar Baby to examine the paradoxical perspective that what is perceived as unnatural may in fact be the most natural. Building on the historical context of tool-mediated learning, the study argues that the utilization of AI represents a natural extension of humanity's long-standing practice of using tools, and conceptually distinguishes AI 'utilization' from AI 'based' and AI 'centred'. On this foundation, three dictionary definitions of the Korean word jayeonseureobda(natural) serve as conceptual criteria for proposing Natural Sport Pedagogy (NSP) as a tentative conceptual framework. NSP comprises three directions and principles: integration, field orientation, and continuous professional development. Integration refers to the principle that no single element, including AI, can occupy the center of sports pedagogy, and that diverse elements must be understood as an interconnected whole. Field orientation denotes the disposition of responsively embracing changes in the external environment while flexibly applying knowledge from sports pedagogy to fit the context of practice. Continuous professional development proposes that the professional competencies of practitioners, particularly the relational capacities that AI cannot replace, must be continuously renewed. This study seeks to contribute to moving the discourse on sports pedagogy in the AI era beyond debates about technological utility toward a fundamental exploration of the directions and principles of education.

본 연구는 AI 시대 스포츠교육의 방향성과 원리를 탐색하는 데 목적이 있다. 이에 본 연구는 영화 「밀리언 달러베이비」의 'unnatural act'라는 대사를 활용하여 부자연스럽다고 인식하는 것이 실제로는 가장 자연스러운 것일 수 있다는 역설적 관점을 탐색한다. 도구 매개 학습의 역사적 맥락을 바탕으로 AI 활용이 인류의 자연스러운도구 사용 방식의 연장선에 있음을 살펴보고, AI '활용'과 AI '기반·중심'을 개념적으로 구분한다. 이를 토대로우리말 '자연스럽다'의 세 가지 사전적 속성을 준거로 삼아 Natural Sport Pedagogy(NSP)를 잠정적 개념 틀로 제안한다. NSP는 통합성, 현장 지향성, 지속적 전문성 개발이라는 세 가지 방향성과 원리로 구성된다. 통합성은 AI를 포함한 어떤 단일 요소도 스포츠교육의 중심이 될 수 없으며 다양한 요소가 상호 연결된 전체로 이해되어야 한다는 원리다. 현장 지향성은 변화하는 외부 환경을 주체적으로 수용하면서 스포츠교육학의 지식을 현장의 맥락에 맞게 유연하게 적용하는 태도를 의미한다. 지속적 전문성 개발은 AI가 대체할 수 없는 지도자의 관계적 역량을 중심으로 전문성이 지속적으로 갱신되어야 함을 제안한다. 본 연구는 AI 시대 스포츠교육 담론이기술의 효용성 논쟁을 넘어 교육의 방향성과 원리에 관한 본질적 탐색으로 나아가는 데 기여하고자 한다.
