Having examined the distribution and characteristics of petroglyph sites in the Levant region thus far, several key findings have emerged. Firstly, the content of the Wusum rock art in the Negev, an abstract tribal symbol from the Bedouin period, reflects socio-economic history and changes in subsistence methods, serving a communicative function within its cultural context. Secondly, Desert kites, open-air shrines, and cairns associated with rock art sites signify tribal identity and territorial domains, whilst the orientation of open-air shrines reflects cosmologies related to death and ritua l. Thirdly, Desert Kites a ssociated with Levantine rock a rt a re densely distributed in central and southern Syria, the Khabur Basin, northern Jordan, the Negev and Sinai, and northern Saudi Arabia. They were utilized from the Pre-Pottery Neolithic period (7,000 B.C.) until the 1st century A.D. for animal husbandry or capture. Fourthly, rock a rt i n the Levant r egion is p rimarily d istributed i n the deserts a nd highla nds inhabited by nomadic people. The phenomenon of accompanying dolmens, desert kites, altars, and open-air sanctuaries is commonly found in rock art sites across Central Asia. Fifth, animal and human footprint petroglyphs found at Levant sites are universally distributed across Eurasia, Africa, and Australia-including the Near East, Saudi Arabia, southern Scandinavia, South India, China, Indonesia, North and South America, and the Korean Peninsula, symbolizing the cycle of regeneration as sacred guides for souls. Sixth, the Je-hyeong(蹄形) petroglyphs, distributed in Israel, South India, Mongolia, and the Korean Peninsula, symbolize the resurrection of the deceased. Seventh, the pictographic script p receding A ra bic, a longside s tanda rdize geometric m otifs found in L eva ntine petroglyphs, evolved into ideographic and alphabetic scripts, becoming the origin of writing. Thus, as the rock art of the Levant and its associated artefacts are commonly distributed across Eurasia, it is evident that active cultural exchange between East and West, center on prehistoric Central Asia, took place. Comparing and examining not only such rock art but also artefacts like the painted pottery from the Neolithic period found in the Near East will shed more concrete light on Eurasian cultural exchange.
