This study aimed to examine the effects of ethical sensitivity and respect for life on person-centered care among nurses in long-term care hospitals, and to provide baseline data for developing interventions to enhance person-centered care competency. The participants were 168 nurses working in long-term care hospitals. Data were collected from January 15 to March 15, 2026, using structured questionnaires. The data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 29.0, including descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. Person-centered care was significantly positively correlated with ethical sensitivity (r = .746, p < .001) and respect for life (r = .581, p < .001). Ethical sensitivity (β = .32, p < .001) was identified as the most influential factor affecting person-centered care, and the overall explanatory power of the model was 63.9%. These findings suggest that enhancing ethical sensitivity and respect for life is essential to improve person-centered care among nurses in long-term care hospitals. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and implement systematic educational programs and intervention strategies to strengthen these attributes.

본 연구는 요양병원 간호사의 윤리적 민감성과 생명존중의지가 인간중심돌봄 수행에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 규명하고, 인간중심돌봄 수행 역량을 높이기 위한 중재방안에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하고자 시도되었다. 연구의 대상은 요양병원 간호사 168명이며, 자료수집은 2026년 1월 15일부터 3월 15일까지 구조화된 설문지를 사용하여 수집하였다. 연구자료는 SPSS/WIN 29.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였으며 빈도분석 및 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, stepwise multiple regression strategies을 이용하여 검정하였다. 연구결과 요양병원 간호사의 인간중심돌봄 수행은 윤리적 민감성(r = .746, p < .001), 생명존중의지(r=.581, p < .001)와 유의한 양의 상관관계가 있었다. 또한 인간중심돌봄 수행에 가장 영향을 미치는 요인은 윤리적 민감성(β = .32, p < .001)이었고, 총 설명력은 63.9%였다. 따라서 요양병원 간호사의 인간중심돌봄 수행 역량을 향상시키기 위해서는 윤리적 민감성과 생명존중의지를 강화할 수 있는 체계적인 윤리교육 프로그램과 중재 전략의 개발 및 적용이 필요하다.
