As career choices become increasingly diverse and the labor market continues to change rapidly, the importance of systematic career planning among high school students has gained growing attention. Career experience activities are a key component of career education, providing students with opportunities to explore various occupations and discover their interests and aptitudes. Career awareness is also an important factor influencing career-related decision-making and planning. However, relatively few studies have examined the effect of satisfaction with career experience activities on career planning and the mediating role of career awareness in this relationship. This study aimed to investigate the effect of satisfaction with career experience activities on career planning among high school students and to verify the mediating effect of career awareness. Data were drawn from the 2025 Career Education Status Survey conducted by the Ministry of Education. The analysis included 8,192 second-year high school students who had participated in career experience activities. The results were as follows. First, satisfaction with career experience activities had a significant positive effect on both career planning and career awareness. Second, career awareness had a significant positive effect on career planning. Third, career awareness partially mediated the relationship between satisfaction with career experience activities and career planning. These findings indicate that positive experiences in career activities enhance students’ understanding of themselves and the world of work, which in turn contributes to the development of more concrete career plans. The findings suggest that the effectiveness of career experience activities can be strengthened through the enhancement of career awareness. Therefore, schools should provide reflective activities and career counseling programs linked to career experience activities to help students connect their experiences with future career planning. This study is meaningful in that it empirically verified the mediating role of career awareness using a large-scale national sample and explained the process through which career experience activities contribute to career planning. 진로 선택의 다양화와 노동시장의 급격한 변화 속에서 고등학생의 체계적인 진로계획 수립의 중요성이 더욱 강조되고 있다. 진로체험활동은 학생들이 다양한 직업세계를 탐색하고 자신의 흥미와 적성을 발견할 수 있도록 지원하는 진로교육의 핵심 요소이며, 진로인식은 진로 관련 의사결정과 계획 수립에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인이다. 그러나 진로체험활동 만족도가 진로계획에 미치는 영향과 이 과정에서 진로인식의 역할을 검증한 연구는 상대적으로 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 고등학생의 진로체험활동 만족도가 진로계획에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 진로인식의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 교육부 「2025년 진로교육현황조사」자료를 활용하여 전국고등학교 2학년 학생 중 진로체험활동 참여자 8,192명을 대상으로 분석을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 첫째, 진로체험활동 만족도는 진로계획과 진로인식에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 진로인식은 진로계획에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 진로인식은 진로체험활동 만족도와 진로계획 간의 관계를 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 진로체험활동에 대한 긍정적 경험이 학생들의 자기이해와 직업세계 이해를 높이고, 이를 통해 보다 구체적인 진로계획 형성으로 이어짐을 의미한다. 이러한 결과는 진로체험활동의 효과가 진로인식 향상을 통해 강화될 수 있음을 시사한다. 따라서 학교는 진로체험활동과 연계한 자기성찰 및 진로상담 프로그램을 강화할 필요가 있다. 또한 본 연구는 전국 단위 대규모 표본을 활용하여 진로인식의 매개효과를 실증적으로 검증함으로써 진로체험활동이 진로계획으로 이어지는 과정을 규명하였다는 점에서 의의를 가진다.
