This study aims to propose a teaching method that integrates cultural knowledge, cultural practice, and cultural perspectives through Samulnori, a traditional Korean performing art, for general-purpose Korean language learners, and to explore its effectiveness and applicability through classroom implementation. Although the importance of cultural education in Korean language education has been continuously emphasized, language-skill-oriented instruction still predominates in actual educational settings, and cultural education often remains limited to knowledge transmission or one-time experiential activities. To address these limitations, this study developed a class model that organically integrates cultural knowledge, cultural practice, and cultural perspectives, and presented detailed instructional activities for each stage to facilitate its application in Korean language classrooms. The proposed Samulnori class was implemented with sixteen intermediate and advanced-level Korean language learners. To examine the effectiveness of the class, pre- and post-surveys, interviews, and reflective journals were collected and analyzed. The findings revealed that learners acquired knowledge related to Korean traditional culture through the Samulnori class and developed an understanding of cultural values embedded in Korean society, including community spirit, cooperation, heung (excitement), and sinmyeong (collective joy and exhilaration), through ensemble performance activities. Furthermore, through activities involving comparison and reflection on traditional performing arts in their own countries, learners identified cultural similarities and differences and cultivated attitudes of intercultural understanding and respect. The results also showed high levels of learner satisfaction and interest, suggesting that Samulnori can serve as an effective instructional resource for Korean traditional culture and arts education. 키워드열기/닫기 버튼

본 연구는 일반목적 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 한국 전통문화예술인 사물놀이를활용하여 문화 지식, 문화 실행, 문화 관점을 통합적으로 교육할 수 있는 수업 방안을 제안하고, 이를 실제 수업에 적용하여 그 효과와 활용 가능성을 탐색하는 데목적이 있다. 한국어교육에서 문화교육의 중요성은 지속적으로 강조되어 왔으나, 실제 교육 현장에서는 언어 기능 중심의 수업이 주를 이루고 있으며 문화교육 또한지식 전달이나 일회성 체험 활동에 머무르는 경우가 많다. 이에 본 연구에서는문화 지식, 문화 실행, 문화 관점을 유기적으로 연결할 수 있는 수업 모형을 설계하고 단계별 수업 내용을 구체적으로 제시하여 수업 현장에 적용할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 실제 중고급 수준의 학습자 16명을 대상으로 사물놀이 수업을 진행하였으며, 사전·사후 설문조사, 인터뷰, 소감문 분석 등을 통해 수업에 대한 효과와 만족도를확인하였다. 연구 결과, 학습자들은 사물놀이 수업을 통해 한국 전통문화와 관련된지식을 습득하였으며, 연주와 합주 과정에서 한국 사회의 공동체 의식, 협동 정신, 흥과 신명 등의 문화적 가치를 이해한 것으로 나타났다. 나아가 자국의 전통 공연문화와 비교·성찰하는 활동을 통해 문화 간 공통점과 차이점을 발견하고 서로 간의문화에 대한 이해와 존중의 태도를 함양했음을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 수업에대한 만족도와 흥미도가 높게 나타나 사물놀이가 한국 전통문화예술 수업의 효과적인 제재로 활용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.
