Ceramic has been closely related to human life over the past centuries and began with the history of mankind. In addition to exchanges with other fields, pottery has sought a new direction away from the past expression methods in the rapidly changing times. In addition, as stereotypes about soil have changed, modern ceramics show more diverse and unique freedom of expression. Due to these changes, potters are freely implementing various new expressions using various techniques along with concerns about materials. This study aims to establish a theoretical background and expand the area of ceramic decorative expression through grafting between the techniques based on the similarities of the two techniques as a study on the development of ceramic decorative techniques applying stained glass. Through existing references and materials, we would like to examine the history and techniques of stained glass, the concept and distinction of ceramic decoration, and the transposition technique, and explain the reason for combining the two techniques through idea research. Based on this, the combination of Copper Foiling, one of the stained glass techniques, and Openwork, a traditional ceramic decoration technique, is called the C&O technique in this paper. Through this, we intend to analyze the development and production process to establish data on tools and materials, and at the same time to present results through work analysis using the technology acquired by this researcher as a technique for ceramic decoration expression. Through this study, the following conclusions were drawn. First, the similarities between the stained glass copper tape technique and the ceramic openwork technique were identified as techniques for forming a window respectively. Second, it was confirmed that the copper tape technique of stained glass was applicable to the permeable part of the ceramic. Third, when stained glasses were applied to the penetration area, the actual window could be shaped and the effect of color that could not be expressed in ceramics could be seen through light transmission. Fourth, it was confirmed that it can be applied to various forms based on the C&O technique used in the researcher's work. Based on this, it is intended to be established as an expression technique for the researcher's work direction and ceramic decoration.

도예는 지난 수 세기 동안 인간 생활과 밀접한 관계를 맺고 인류의 역사와 함께 시작되었다. 도예는다른 분야와의 교류뿐 아니라 변화하는 시대 상황에서 과거의 표현 방법에서 벗어나 새로운 방향을 모색하게 되었다. 또한 흙에 대한 고정관념도 바뀌면서 현대도예는 좀 더 다양한 표현의 자유로움을 보여주고 있다. 이러한 변화로 인해 도예가들은 재료에 대한 고민과 더불어 다양한 기법을 활용하여 여러 가지 새로운 표현양식들을 자유롭게 구현하고 있다. 본 연구는 스테인드글라스를 적용한 도자장식기법 개발 연구로서 이론적 배경을 정립하고 두 기법의 유사점을 바탕으로 기법 간의 접목을 통해 도자 장식표현의 영역을 확대하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 기존의 참고문헌과 자료를 통해 스테인드글라스의 역사 및 기법과 도자장식의 개념 및 구분, 투각기법에 대해 살펴보고 두 기법을 접목하게 된 이유를 발상 연구를 통해 설명하고자 한다. 이를 바탕으로스테인드글라스기법의 하나인 동테이프기법(Copper Foiling)과 전통 도자장식 기법인 투각기법(Openwork)을 접목한 것을 본 논문에서는 C&O기법이라고 명명하고자 한다. 이를 통해 개발 및 제작과정을 분석하여 도구와 재료에 대한 자료를 구축하고, 동시에 본 연구자가 습득한 기술이 사용된 작품 분석을 통해 결과를 제시함으로써 도자장식표현의 한 가지 기법으로 정립하고자 한다. 본 연구를 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 도출해 내었다. 첫째, 스테인드글라스 동테이프기법과 도자의 투각기법이 각각 창(窓)을 형성하기 위한 기법이라는유사점을 확인하였다. 둘째, 스테인드글라스의 동테이프기법을 도자의 투각부위에 적용 가능하다는 것을 확인하였다. 셋째, 투각부위에 스테인드글라스를 접목하면 실제 창(窓)을 형상화하고 빛의 투과를 통해 도자에서는 표현할 수 없었던 색채의 효과를 볼 수 있었다. 넷째, 연구자의 작업에 활용된 C&O기법을 토대로 다양한 형태에 적용 가능하다는 것을 확인하였다. 이를 바탕으로 연구자의 작업 방향과 도자장식을 위한 한 가지 표현기법으로 정립하고자 한다.
