In the world of arts, crafts, and industry designers. There is a transfer of ideas from the West to the East. or east to west causing internationalization Understanding the history of art designers and the ethos of art institutions is an important way to more clearly articulate identities. This thesis will study and explain the works and autobiography of Theodor Bogler in relation to the history of the Bauhaus’s pottery workshop, and the artist's ideas and the philosophy of the Bauhaus in Weimar Germany and who is involved in the history of design, as well as the foundations of ceramics in the Bauhaus Institute and the creation of the theory of modern design before the outbreak of World War II. Overall, Bauhaus pottery, the Ceramic of Weimar represents an important chapter in the history of ceramic art and design, showcasing the creative and innovative spirit of the Weimar Republic era in Germany. It remains a source of inspiration for contemporary ceramic artists and designers interested in modernist aesthetics and functional design impact on various fields, including architecture, design, art, and education.The Bauhaus philosophy that objects should be beautiful, well designed but affordable. “Innovative, Holistic, Aesthetic, Free-thinking, Chaotic, Honest, Revolutionary, White color, Radical design, Fast and German modern” it is Bauhaus. This is what many people have said about the Bauhaus. The Bauhaus was a revolutionary art school and design movement that emerged in Germany during the early 20th century. Theodor Bogler (1897-1968) was a seminal figure in the world of ceramic art and design during the early to mid-20th century. This abstract offers an overview of his life, work, and enduring impact on the field of ceramics. One of Bogler's most notable contributions to ceramic art was his role in redefining the role of the potter. He saw pottery as a form of industrial design and believed that ceramics could be both aesthetically pleasing and utilitarian. His innovative approach to form and function led to the creation of ceramics that were not only beautiful but also functional and affordable, making them accessible to a wider audience. Studying the cultural transfer from the West and the East will make design more international.

예술계, 공예계, 산업 디자인계에서는 서양에서 동양으로 또는 동양에서 서양으로 아이디어가 전이되면서 국제화가 이루어진다. 예술가, 디자이너들의 이력과 예술 단체의 기풍(ethos)을 파악하는 것은이들의 정체성을 한층 더 명확하게 정의하는 중요한 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 테오도르 보글러의 작품과 생애를 바우하우스 도자공방의 역사와 연관 지어 살펴보고 설명한다. 또한 2차 대전 발발 전 현대디자인 이론 창시와 바우하우스 내에 도자공방 설립은 물론 디자인사에 족적을 남긴 보글러의 독일 바이마르 바우하우스에 대한 사상과 철학에 대해서도 살펴보고 설명한다. 바우하우스 도자, 즉 바이마르의 도예는 독일 바이마르 공화국 시대의 창의와 혁신 정신의 표본으로써 도예와 디자인사에서 비중 있게 다루어지고 있다. 모더니즘 미학과 기능적 디자인이 건축, 디자인, 미술, 교육 등 다양한 분야에 미친 영향에 관심 있는 현대 도예가와 디자이너에게 바우하우스 도자는 영감의 원천이다. 사물은 아름다워야 하고 디자인도 훌륭해야 하지만 가격이 합리적이어야 한다는 바우하우스의 철학은 ‘혁신적, 심미적, 자유 사고, 혼돈, 정직, 변혁적, 화이트 컬러, 급진적 디자인, 빠름, 독일식 모던’으로 대표할 수있다. 이러한 평가는 바우하우스를 둘러싸고 오랫동안 회자 되어왔다. 바우하우스는 20세기 초 독일에서 등장한 혁신적 예술 학교이자 디자인 운동이었다. 테오도르 보글러(1897-1968)는 20세기 초중반 도예와 디자인계에서 상당히 영향력 있는 인물이었다. 본 논문에서는 보글러의 삶과 작품, 도예에 미친 그의 지속적 영향에 대해 개괄한다. 도예에 있어서 보글러가 기여한 가장 주목할 만한 공로 중 하나는도예가의 역할을 재정립했다는 점이다. 그는 도예를 산업 디자인의 한 형태로 보았고, 도예가 심미적즐거움과 실용성을 모두 갖출 수 있다고 믿었다. 서양과 동양의 문화전파, 교류에 관한 연구를 넘어서그의 조형과 기능에 대한 혁신적 접근 방식은 아름다움과 기능을 추구하는 동시에 합리적인 가격의 도자기를 만들어 냄으로써 도자기에 대한 접근성을 높였고 도자기의 저변을 확대하기 위한 모델을 제시했다는데 그 의미가 있다.
