This study analyzed trends in early childhood global citizenship education using keyword network analysis, focusing on research that incorporates the six core themes proposed by APCEIU: global citizenship, human rights, peace, gender equality, cultural diversity, and sustainable development. The analysis identified "education for sustainable development (ESD)" as having the highest frequency and centrality. In terms of keyword frequency, "picture books" (41 occurrences) and "preservice teachers' perceptions" (36 occurrences) followed. Network centrality analysis further revealed that "education for sustainable development," "preservice teachers' perceptions," "teachers' perceptions," and "picture books" ranked consistently among the top five in all centrality measures. These results indicate the significance of ESD as a key value underpinning global citizenship education aimed at fostering future competencies as members of a global community. However, they also suggest the need to diversify teaching and learning approaches that have been heavily centered on picture books. The study contributes foundational data for reconstructing goals and content related to global citizenship education within the national curriculum, as well as for establishing theoretical and practical bases for education, teaching materials, and resources tailored to preservice and in-service early childhood teachers.

본 논문에서는 APCEIU에서 제시한 유아 세계시민교육의 범위인 세계시민성, 인권, 평화, 성평등, 문화다양성, 지속가능발전의 6가지 핵심주제를 포함하는 연구물을 중심으로 유아 세계시민교육 연구동향을 키워드 네트워크 분석법을 활용하여 거시적으로 분석하고 그 구조적 관계를 파악하였다. 연구 결과, '지속가능발전교육'이 가장 높은 빈도 수와 중심성으로 나타났다. 이어서 출현빈도 결과, '그림책(41회)', '예비교사인식(36회)' 의 빈도 순으로 나타났으며 네트워크 중심성 결과, '지속가능발전교육', '예비교사 인식', '교사인식', '그림책'이 모든 중심성 결과에서 상위 1-5위로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 지구공동체로서 미래 역량을 함양하는 세계시민교육의 핵심 가치와 맞닿아 있는 지속가능발전교육이 의미가 있으나 그림책에 편중된 교수학습의 다양화를 모색할 필요성을 시사하는 바, 향후 국가 수준 교육과정에서의 세계시민교육 관련 목표와 내용을 재구조화하고, 예비 또는 현장 영유아교사를 위한 교육 및 교재교구 등 이론적·실천적 근거의 토대 마련의 기초자료를 제공하는데 의의가 있다.
