This study quantitatively analyzed the emotional correlation between Lee Jungseob's letters and artwork commentaries using KOTE-based sentiment analysis and Plutchik's 8-emotion model. The analysis targeted 51 letters to his family and 41 artwork commentaries from 1953-1956. Results revealed three emotional transfer patterns. First, Sadness (r = .963) and Surprise (r = .914) showed synchronous transfer with high positive correlations. Second, Joy (r = -.589), Disgust (r = -1.000), and Anger (r = -1.000) exhibited counter-transfer with strong negative correlations. Third, Fear demonstrated delayed manifestation, shifting from no correlation (r = .100) to perfect correlation (r = 1.000) one year later. Time-series analysis identified an emotional inflection point during 1954-1955, coinciding with exhibition failure and family reunion setbacks, where positive emotions decreased and Sadness surged in both texts. This suggests artistic emotional expression involves differentiated psychological transformations rather than simple reflection. This pioneering study quantitatively demonstrates emotional structures between an artist's linguistic records and artistic discourse, presenting integration possibilities for sentiment analysis and art studies.

본 연구는 한국 근대 미술가 이중섭의 편지와 작품 해설 간 감정 상관성을 KOTE 기반 감성 분석과 Plutchik 8감정 모델을 활용하여 정량적으로 분석하였다. 분석 대상은 1953-1956년 가족에게 보낸 편지 51편과 작품 해설 41점이다. 분석 결과 세 가지 감정 전이 패턴이 확인되었다. 첫째, Sadness(r = .963)와 Surprise(r = .914)는 높은 정적 상관을 보여 동조적 전이를 나타냈다. 둘째, Joy(r = -.589), Disgust(r = -1.000), Anger(r = -1.000)는 강한 부적 상관을 보여 역전적 전이를 형성하였다. 셋째, Fear는 동일 시점에서 무상관(r = .100)이나 1년 후 완벽한 정적 상관(r = 1.000)으로 전환되어 지연적 전이를 나타냈다. 시계열 분석 결과, 1954-1955년 개인전 실패와 가족 재회 좌절 시기에 두 텍스트 모두에서 긍정 정서가 감소하고 Sadness가 급증하는 감정 변곡점이 확인되었다. 이는 예술적 감정 표현이 단순 반영이 아니라 차별화된 심리적 변환을 거침을 시사한다. 본 연구는 예술가의 언어 기록과 작품 담론 간 감정 구조를 정량적으로 규명한 선구적 연구로서, 감성 분석과 예술학 연구의 융합 가능성을 제시한다.
