Perceptions of Pre-service Early Childhood Teachers on Micro-degree

- Purpose of Research : This study explores the perceptions of pre-service early childhood teachers regarding the significance and challenges of micro-degrees. The findings are intended to serve as foundational data for developing micro-degree curricula aimed at fostering expertise in early childhood educators. Research Content and Method : From September to December 2025, this study investigated the perceptions of micro-degrees through interviews with 35 pre-service early childhood teachers. The participants were second- and third-year students in the Department of Early Childhood Education at S Theological University in Gyeonggi-do, all of whom had prior experience participating in micro-degree courses. Conclusion and Suggestions : The study found that pre-service early childhood teachers perceived micro-degrees as a foundation for growth as future-oriented educators, a means of expanding convergent expertise, a source of practice-oriented learning experiences, and a way to secure differentiated competitiveness. However, challenges were identified, including the limited number of courses offered, insufficient enrollment capacity, low awareness of the micro-degree process, and a lack of integration between subjects. Consequently, it is necessary to diversify and systematize micro-degree curricula, increase flexibility in class operations, strengthen promotional efforts and information-sharing systems, expand field-linked programs, and provide support for systems that enhance motivation for completion.

- 연구 목적 : 본 연구는 예비유아교사의 마이크로디그리 의미와 어려움에 대한 인식을 탐구하였다. 이를 통해, 전문성 있는 유아교사 양성을 위한 마이크로디그리 교육과정의 기초자료로 활용되길 기대한다. 연구내용 및 방법 : 본 연구는 2025년 9월 ~ 12월까지 경기도 S신학대학교 유아교육과 2~3학년 대상으로 마이크로디그리 수업 참여 경험이 있는 예비유아교사 35명을 대상으로 면담을 통해 마이크로디그리에 대한 인식을 탐구하였다. 결론 및 제언 : 예비유아교사의 마이크로디그리에 대한 의미는 미래형 교사로의 성장 기반, 융합적 전문성 확장, 실천 중심 학습 경험, 차별화된 경쟁력 확보로 나타났다. 예비유아교사의 마이크로디그리에 대한 어려움은 교과목 개설 수의 제한, 수강 정원 부족, 마이크로디그리 과정 인지도 부족, 교과 간 통합성 부족으로 나타났다. 따라서, 마이크로디그리 교과목 다양화 및 체계화, 수업 운영 유연화, 홍보 강화 및 정보 제공 체계 구축, 현장 연계 프로그램 확대, 이수 동기 강화 체계에 대한 지원이 필요하다.

- 한국에 복음이 들어오고, 교회가 설립된 것은 19세기 말이었다. 해방이 되면서 한국교회는 더욱 발전하게 되었고 그에 따라 기독교교육의 중요성과 필요성도 강조되게 되었다. 그러한 과정에 기독교교육을 전공한 학자들이 귀국함에 따라 그들을 중심으로 한국기독교교육학회를 결성할 필요성을 느껴 설립하게 되었다. 한국기독교교육학회의 설립 목적은 기독교교육학의 이론적 발전과 실천을 위한 연구와 장을 확대해가려는 것이다. 그리고 학자들간의 연구교류와 교제를 위한 장을 마련하기 위하여 본 학회를 1960년에 설립하였다.
