Most of the soldiers who make up the military organization today are young men in their early 20s. Unlike the general society, in a military society where strict discipline and group action are valued, the mental and physical pain experienced by each soldier individually acts as a great stress, and they serve in the military in a state of emotional and psychological instability. In light of this phenomenon, officers are required to have more systematic and professional counseling guidance capabilities for soldiers who are maladjusted to military service, and there is a need to strengthen officers' counseling capabilities, as well as improvements in capacity-building measures and effective changes in institutional aspects. This means that military counseling is not simply about solving individual problems. The primary mission of the military and its officers is to foster a sense of military spirit and strengthen unit adaptability, thereby simultaneously achieving unit and individual growth goals. This enables them to win the war and thrive in society after discharge. Therefore, this study is significant in highlighting the need for military officers to strengthen their counseling capabilities, as well as providing practical suggestions and directions for effective development.

오늘날 군 조직을 구성하고 있는 병사들은 대부분 20대 초반의 청년들로 일반사회와 달리 엄격한 규율과 집단행동이 중요시 되는 군대 사회에서 장병 개인이 체감하는 정신적·신체적 고통이 매우 큰 스트레스로 작용하여 정서적으로 심리상태가 불안한 상태에서 군 복무를 하고 있다. 이러한 현상을 볼 때 군 복무 부적응 병사들을 대상으로 간부들이 보다 체계적이고 전문적인 상담 지도능력이 요구되며 간부들의 상담역량을 강화시킬 필요성과 함께 역량강화 방안에 대한 개선과 제도적 측면에서 실효성 있는 변화가 요구된다. 이는 군 상담이 단순한 개인적 문제해결 차원이 아니라 군인정신 함양과 부대적응성을 강화하여 부대와 개인의 성장 목표를 동시에 달성하여 전쟁에서 승리하고 전역 후 사회에서도 발전적으로 역량을 잘 발휘할 수 있도록 하는 것이 군과 간부들의 주요 임무이다. 따라서 본 연구는 군 간부들이 상담역량 강화를 위한 필요성 및 실효성 있는 제언과 방향성을 제시 하는데 의의가 있다.
