The decline of the Korean church today is rooted not merely in demographic shifts, but in the loss of homiletical efficacy─the failure of proclaimed messages to shape the actual lives of congregants. This study seeks to identify the transformational mechanisms by which Text-driven Preaching moves beyond pulpit proclamation to become a Text-driven Life that reshapes the daily existence of listeners. The study advances three central arguments. First, the authority of preaching is grounded in the divine authority of Scripture, and the preacher must embody an ethos shaped by personal appropriation of the Word. Second, the transformational dynamic of preaching lies in the speech act of the Holy Spirit, whose illocutionary force operates through the biblical text to produce concrete perlocutionary effects in listeners’ lives─ moving them toward the ontological transformation (metamorfou,meqa) described in 2 Corinthians 3:18. Third, this mechanism requires principalizing and parallelizing the text in relation to the listeners’ Sitz im Leben, culminating in a single Spirit-charged sentence─the Take-home Truth─inscribed upon the hearts of the congregation. Building on these findings, this study proposes the ECHO preaching model as a practical integrative strategy: Exegesis, Christocentric Principle, Homiletical Appropriation, and One-sentence Truth. The revitalization of the Korean church begins not with programmatic innovation, but with the recovery of transformational preaching in which the life-giving power of the biblical text becomes incarnated in the daily language and habits of the congregation.

오늘날 한국교회의 침체는 단순한 인구학적 감소를 넘어 강단에서 선포되는 설교가 성도의 실제적인 삶을 이끌지 못하는 설교의 효능감 상실에서 그 원인을 찾을 수 있다. 본 연구는 본문이 이끄는 설교(Text-driven Preaching)가 강단의 선포를 넘어 청중의 일상을 변화시키는 본문이 이끄는 삶(Text-driven Life)으로 나아가는 변혁적 기제를 규명하고자한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 세 가지 핵심 축을 중심으로 논의를 전개한다. 첫째, 설교의 권위는 설교자의 역량이 아니라 성경의 신적 권위에 근거하며, 설교자는 본문의 통치를 가장 먼저 받는 에토스(Ethos)를 갖춘 자로서 인격적 전유를 통해 청중의 변화를 견인해야 한다. 둘째, 설교의 변혁적 동력은 성령의 언어 행위(Speech Act)에 있다. 본문안에 내재된 의미수반발화의 힘(Illocutionary force)은 성령의 사역을 통해 청중의 삶에서 구체적인 변화의 결과(Perlocutionary effect) 로 수행되며, 이 과정은 고린도후서 3장 18절이 증언하는 존재론적변형(metamorfou,meqa)에 이르게 한다. 셋째, 이 신학적 메커니즘이실제로 작동하기 위해서는 정교한 원리화와 평행화 작업, 그리고 성령의 수행력이 응축된‘집으로 가져가는 진리(Take-home Truth)’가청중의 가슴에 심겨져야 한다. 이러한 논의를 토대로 본 연구는 Exegesis(주해) - Christocentric Principle(그리스도 중심 원리) - Homiletical Appropriation(설교적 전유) - One-sentence Truth(집으로 가져가는 진리)로 구성된‘ECHO 설교’모델을 실천적 전략으로 제안한다. 한국교회의 재활성화는 프로그램의 혁신이 아니라 본문의 생명력이 설교자의 에토스를 통과하여청중의 일상 언어와 습관으로 육화되는 변혁적 설교의 회복에서 시작된다.
