South Korea has entered a super-aged society at the fastest pace in the world. Rapid population aging has led to the compressed emergence of social problems related to older adults. This accelerated demographic shift has made it difficult to sufficiently review and implement national aging policies in a gradual and systematic manner, thereby imposing structural burdens across the broader social and educational ecosystem. Amid these changes, churches are likewise confronted with new challenges in pastoral and educational contexts due to the aging composition of their congregations. The purpose of this study is to analyze the content and outcomes of national aging policies through a literature review and to critically examine their limitations. In doing so, the study seeks to explore the role of the church in addressing the social, emotional, and spiritual care needs of older adults that are insufficiently addressed within existing policy frameworks. To this end, the study moves beyond the conventional practice in which the church has regarded older adults merely as objects of care, and reconceptualizes them as individuals in need of education. It further examines the educational roles and responsibilities of faith communities for older believers. Furthermore, this study proposes a complementary governance model that links national aging policies with the church’s educational and caregiving ministries. By framing issues related to older adults as a shared responsibility of both the state and the church, the study aims to present educational content that promotes the holistic well-being of older adults-content that can be uniquely provided by the church as a faith-based educational community.

한국은 전 세계에서 가장 빠른 속도로 초고령사회에 진입한 국가이다. 초고속 고령화로 인해 노인 관련 사회적 문제가 압축적으로 발생하고있다. 즉, 급속한 고령화는 국가 고령화 정책의 충분한 검토와 단계적추진을 어렵게 하였으며, 사회 및 교육 생태계 전반에 구조적 부담으로작용하고 있다. 이러한 변화 속에서 교회 역시 성도 구성의 고령화에따라 목회와 교육 현장에서 새로운 과제에 직면하고 있다. 본 연구의목적은 문헌연구를 통해 국가 고령화 정책의 내용과 성과를 분석하고, 한계를 비판적으로 검토함으로써 정책에서 충분히 포괄하지 못하는노인의 사회적·정서적·영적 돌봄 필요에 대응하기 위한 교회의 역할을 탐색하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 교회가 전통적으로 노인을돌봄의 대상으로만 여겨왔던 관행에서 벗어나 노인을 교육이 필요한존재로 재인식하고, 노년기 성도를 위한 신앙공동체 기반의 교육적역할과 책임을 조명하고자 한다. 나아가 국가 고령화 정책과 교회의교육·돌봄 사역이 상호 보완적으로 연계되는 거버넌스 모델을 제안함으로써, 노인의 사회적 문제를 교회와 국가의 공동 과제이자 책임으로인식하고, 노년기 전인적 안녕을 지향하는 교회만이 제공할 수 있는교육 내용을 제시하고자 한다.
