This study aimed to empirically investigate the relationship between sports intelligence, adaptive performance, and career calling among students from a national university of education. A total of 389 second- and third-year students participated in the study. The collected data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 28.0, AMOS 22.0, and Microsoft Excel 2016. Exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and path analysis were conducted. The results were as follows. First, the hypothesis testing results indicated that sports intelligence had a significant positive effect on adaptive performance and also had a direct and significant positive effect on career calling. In addition, adaptive performance was found to have a significant positive effect on career calling. Second, the results of the path analysis conducted to verify the significance of the mediating (indirect) effect showed that sports intelligence had both a direct effect on career calling and an indirect effect through adaptive performance. However, the partial mediation model demonstrated a better fit than the full mediation model. These findings suggest that students’ sports intelligence strengthens their career calling through adaptive performance.

이 연구는 교대생의 스포츠지능이 적응수행과 진로소명에 어떠한 구조적 관계와 영향을 미치는지 실증적으로 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 G교육대학교에 재학 중인 2, 3학년 교대생 총 389명을 대상으로 연구를 수행하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS PC+28.0와 AMOS 22.0과 Microsoft Excel 2016 프로그램을 이용하여 탐색적 요인분석과 신뢰도, 확인적 요인분석, 구조모형, 경로분석 등을 실시하였다. 이를 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교대생의 스포츠지능과 적응수행 및 진로소명의 관계에서 교대생의 스포츠지능은 적응수행에 유의한 정(+) 의 영향을 미쳤으며, 교대생의 스포츠지능은 진로소명에도 직접적으로 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 교대생의 적응수행은 진로소명에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 교대생의 스포츠지능이 진로소명에 미치는 영향에서 적응수행의 매개(간접)효과의 유의성 검증 결과는 교대생의 스포츠지능이 진로소명에 대해 직접효과와 함께 적응수행을 통한 간접효과를 동시에 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 부분매개모형이 완전매개모형보다 적합도가 우수한 것으로 확인되었다. 이는 교대생의 스포츠지능이 적응수행을 매개로 하여 진로소명을 더욱 강화한다는 의미이다.
