This study investigates the practical constraints, implementation challenges, and educational significance of bicycle-riding activities introduced as "Life-Environment Sports" within the "Ecological Sports" category of the 2022 Revised Physical Education Curriculum. Using an action research method based on the ADDIE model, the researcher designed and implemented lessons for 5th-grade students at Y Elementary School from August to October 2024. Data were collected and analyzed through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The key findings are as follows: First, the researcher bridged the gap between curriculum ideals and school reality—marked by a lack of equipment and budget—by proactively procuring second-hand bicycles and utilizing students' personal gear. Second, to alleviate students' fear of falling, the "familiarization" stage and peer support were reinforced. Through incremental task design, students corrected misconceptions in braking and pedaling, acquiring safe riding skills that extended to real-world practices like hand signals and crosswalk practice. Third, the program demonstrated educational value by narrowing the gap in physical activity experiences, enhancing physical self-efficacy, and fostering practical ecological citizenship. However, limited instructional time under the PE specialist system and the need for systematic support for low-skilled students were identified as constraints. Accordingly, to ensure the successful integration of ecological sports, this study suggests developing integrated project-based classes, introducing a district-level "Shared Physical Education Storage" system, and formulating support plans for low-skilled students.

본 연구는 2022 개정 체육과 교육과정에서 신설된 생태형 스포츠 영역 중 생활환경형 스포츠로서 자전거타기형활동을 초등학교 현장에 도입하는 과정에서 나타난 수업 준비의 현실적 제약과 극복, 프로그램의 실제 적용 과정에서 마주한 어려움과 개선 과정 그리고 프로그램이 갖는 교육적 의미를 심층적으로 규명하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 ADDIE 모형에 기반한 실행연구(Action Research) 방법을 적용하였다. 연구자는 2024년 8월부터 10월까지 Y초등학교 5학년 학생들을 대상으로 수업을 설계 및 실행하였으며 참여관찰, 심층 면담, 문서자료를 통해 자료를 수집·분석하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 프로그램 설계 과정에서 자전거 및 안전 장비의 부재, 예산 부족 등 교육과정의 이상과 현실 사이의 간극이 확인되었다. 연구자는 중고 자전거 구매 및 학생 개인 장비 활용등 능동적 실천으로 수업 기반을 마련하였다. 둘째, 프로그램 실행 과정에서 확인된 학생의 넘어지는 두려움을해결하기 위해 자전거와 친해지기 단계를 강화하였다. 단계적으로 과제를 설계하고 동료의 지지와 격려로 심리적 안정감을 확보하였다. 양손 브레이크 사용법 및 페달링 시점 등 학생들이 가졌던 오개념을 교정하여 안전한주행 능력을 확보하였으며, 수준별 수신호 및 횡단보도 건너기 실습을 통해 배움을 학교 밖으로 확장하였다. 이러한 과정은 학생들의 피드백을 즉각 반영하는 실행연구의 순환적 절차를 통해 수업의 완성도를 높이는 계기가되었다. 셋째, 프로그램 실행의 교육적 의미를 규명하였다. 공교육을 통한 신체활동 경험 격차 해소와 협력적 배움을 통한 신체적 자기효능감 고취를 확인하였으며 실생활 연계 교육으로 실천적 생태 시민 역량의 토대를 마련하였다. 다만 전담 교사 체제의 시수 제약으로 생태형 스포츠의 본질적 가치 구현에는 한계가 있었고, 기능 부진학생을 위한 체계적 지원의 필요성도 확인하였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 생태형 스포츠의 현장 안착을위해 타 교과와 연계한 융합형 프로젝트 수업 개발, 교육지원청 단위의 ‘공유형 체육 창고’ 시스템 도입, 기능 부진 학생을 위한 체계적 지원 방안 마련을 제언하였다.
