(Purpose) This study aimed to exploratorily examine the correlational and predictive relationships among Korean language proficiency, multicultural values and attitudes, personal adaptation and identity perception, and school environment and relational experiences among (Research Methods) A survey was conducted with 161 Koryo-saram students attending a middle school located in Asan, Chunnam, South Korea. Korean language proficiency was measured through self-assessment across four domains: speaking, writing, reading, and listening. Demographic characteristics were included as control variables. Data were analyzed sequentially using independent samples t-tests, oneway ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. (Findings) First, significant differences were found in multicultural values and attitudes, school environment, and relational experiences by gender, with male students reporting more positive perceptions in some models. Length of residence was significantly associated with personal adaptation and identity perception, though the pattern was not linearly increasing. Second, Korean language proficiency showed a significant positive correlation with personal adaptation and identity perception, and multiple regression analyses identified reading, speaking, and listening as significant predictors, whereas writing was not. In contrast, language proficiency did not show direct predictive power for school environment and relational experiences or multicultural values and attitudes. Third, the direct correlation between multicultural values and attitudes and personal adaptation and identity perception was weak; however, both variables showed moderate positive correlations with school environment and relational experiences. Comparative regression models indicated that personal adaptation and identity perception significantly predicted school environment and relational experiences. (Conclusion) These findings suggest that the adaptation of Koryo-saram students is a multidimensional process shaped not solely by language proficiency but through the interaction of identity perception, school experiences, and other contextual factors.

(연구목적) 본 연구는 러시아 및 중앙아시아 출신 고려인 이주배경학생을 대상으로 한국어 능력과 다문화 가치･태도, 개인 적응 및 정체성 인식, 학교 환경 및 관계 경험 간의 상관 및 예측 관계를 탐색적으로 분석하는 데 목적을 두었다. (연구방법) 이를 위해 충청남도 아산시 소재 중학교에 재학 중인 고려인 이주배경학생 161명을 대상으로 조사연구를 실시하였다. 한국어 능력은 말하기, 쓰기, 읽기, 듣기의 4개 영역을 자기평가 방식으로 측정하였으며, 인구통계학적 특성을 통제변수로 설정하고 독립표본 t-검정, 일원분산분석, Pearson 상관분석, 다중회귀분석을 순차적으로 실시하였다. (연구결과) 첫째, 성별에 따라 다문화 가치･태도와 학교 환경 및 관계 경험에서 유의한 차이가 나타났으며, 일부 모형에서 남학생이 상대적으로 긍정적인 인식을 보였다. 거주기간은 개인 적응 및 정체성 인식에서 유의한 차이를 보였으나, 단선적으로 증가하지는 않았다. 둘째, 한국어 능력은 개인 적응 및 정체성 인식과 유의한 정적 상관을 보였으며, 다중회귀분석 결과 읽기, 말하기, 듣기 능력이 유의한 예측 요인으로 나타났다. 반면 한국어 능력은 학교 환경 및 관계 경험과 다문화 가치･태도에는 직접적인 예측력을 보이지 않았다. 셋째, 다문화 가치･태도와 개인 적응 및 정체성 인식 간 직접적 상관은 크지 않았으나, 두 변인 모두 학교 환경 및 관계 경험과는 중간 수준의 정적 상관을 형성하였다. 회귀모형 비교 결과, 개인 적응 및 정체성 인식이 학교 환경 및 관계 경험을 유의하게 설명하는 요인으로 나타났다. (결론 및 제언) 이러한 결과는 고려인 이주배경학생의 적응이 언어 능력만의 문제가 아니라 정체성 인식과 학교 경험 등 다양한 요인 간의 상호 관련 속에서 형성되는 다층적 과정임을 시사한다.
