This study examines the characteristics of Korean-style hero narratives by focusing on superhero-themed Korean contents produced since the 2000s, including the film . While conventional hero narratives have traditionally centered on a single extraordinary individual endowed with innate superiority, contemporary Korean superhero narratives presents a different pattern in which ordinary members of society acquire heroic abilities through contingent or accidental opportunities and perform heroic roles as collective heroes through solidarity and cooperation with others. Korean hero narratives such as , , , and share key elements of conventional hero narratives, including the possession of supernatural abilities, confrontation with evil, and the pursuit of social protection and justice. At the same time, these works reveal distinctive characteristics through their portrayal of the origins and functions of heroic abilities, the processes through which heroic qualities are formed, and the exercise of power based on solidarity and collective cohesion. Through this analysis, this study argues that Korean-style hero narratives maintain the fundamental framework of traditional hero narratives while simultaneously offering a meaningful variation that reflects the everyday realities and communal values of Korean society. In doing so, Korean-style hero narratives demonstrate their potential by embodying both universal appeal and culturally specific characteristics.

본 고는 영화 <하이파이브>를 비롯하여 2000년대 이후 한국에서 제작된 초능력 기반 영웅 콘텐츠를 중심으로, 한국형 영웅 서사의 특징에 관해 고찰하여 보고자 하였다. 기존의 영웅 서사가 선천적 비범함을 지닌 단일 영웅을 중심으로 전개되었다면, 현대의 한국형 영웅 콘텐츠는 평범한 사회 구성원이 우연적 기회를 통해 영웅적 능력을 획득하고, 다른 인물들과의 연대와 협력을 통해 집합 영웅으로서 영웅적 역할을 수행하는 양상을 제시한다. 영화 <하이파이브>와 <염력>, 드라마 <경이로운 소문>과 <무빙> 등 각 작품의 인물과 서사 등을 중심으로 텍스트를 분석하여 한국형 영웅 서사는 기존의 영웅 서사 구조와 전개의 초월적 능력, 악과 의 대립, 사회 보호와 정의 구현이라는 목적성 등의 특성을 공유하는 한편, 인물들의 능력 기원과 기능, 영웅적 면모의 형성 과정, 그리고 연대와 결속에 기반한 능력 발휘 등 몇몇 공통적인 인물·서사적 특성을 제시하며 그만의 특성을 지니고 있음을 확인하였다. 이를 통해 한국형 영웅 서사가 전형적인 영웅 서사의 문법을 유지하면서도 일상성과 공동체의 연대 등 한국 사회의 현실과 정서를 반영한 변주를 통해 한국형 영웅 서사가 보편적이며 지역적 특수성을 반영한 유효함을 지니고 있음을 제시하고자 하였다.
