Despite the expanding adoption and utilization of the digital yuan (e-CNY) in China, empirical research examining the factors influencing users’ behavioral intention to use this technology remains limited. This study aims to identify the determinants of users’ intention to adopt the digital yuan by employing the Technology Acceptance Model. In particular, considering the unique characteristics of emerging digital financial technologies such as the digital yuan, this study incorporates digital literacy, technology self-efficacy, and perceived security as key exogenous variables, assuming that individuals’ digital capabilities and technology-related perceptions play a critical role in the technology adoption process. Data were collected through a survey conducted among residents in Beijing, one of the pilot cities for the digital yuan, yielding a total of 267 valid responses for analysis. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were employed to test the proposed hypotheses. The results indicate that digital literacy, technology self-efficacy, and perceived security all have significant effects on perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. In addition, perceived ease of use significantly influences both perceived usefulness and attitude, while perceived usefulness has a significant impact on attitude and behavioral intention to use. These findings suggest that, in the context of adopting new digital payment technologies such as the digital yuan, individuals’ digital capabilities and attitudes toward technology acceptance play a crucial role. This study contributes to the literature by extending the applicability of the Technology Acceptance Model to digital currency adoption and provides policy implications for promoting the effective diffusion of the digital yuan.

최근 중국에서 디지털 위안화(e-CNY)의 도입과 활용이 확대되고 있음에도 불구하고, 이용자의 사용 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 대한 실증적 연구는 아직 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 기술 수용모델을 활용하여 디지털 위안화 사용 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 규명하고자 한다. 특히 디지털 위안화와 같은 새로운 디지털 금융 기술의 수용 과정에서 개인의 디지털 역량과 기술 인식 요인이 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 판단하여 디지털 리터러시, 기술 자기효능감, 지각된 보안성을 외생 변수로 포함하였다. 연구를 위해 디지털 위안화 시범 도시인 베이징 지역 주민을 대상으로 설문조사를 통해 수집하였으며, 총 267부의 유효 표본을 활용하여 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 방법으로는 확인적 요인분석과 구조방정식모형을 활용하였다. 분석 결과, 디지털 리터러시, 기술 자기효능감, 지각된 보안성은 모두 지각된 용이성과 지각된 유용성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 지각된 용이성은 지각된 유용성과 태도에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며, 지각된 유용성은 태도와 사용 의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 디지털 위안화와 같은 새로운 디지털 결제 수단을 위한 기술수용의 문제는 개인의 디지털 역량과 기술수용 태도가 중요한 역할을 한다는 점을 시사한다. 본 연구는 디지털 화폐 수용 연구에서 기술수용모델의 적용 범위를 확장하였다는 점에서 학문적 의의를 가지며, 디지털 위안화의 효과적인 확산 전략 수립을 위한 정책적 시사점을 제공한다.
