The purpose of this study was to explore experiences of perceived reverse discrimination among male university students in their twenties and the outcomes associated with these experiences. To this end, nine male university students aged 20 to 29 participated in the study; six were involved in the interview, sorting, and rating phases, and three participated in supplementary interviews. A concept mapping methodology was employed, in which participants freely described their experiences of reverse discrimination, and these statements were used to construct and analyze a concept map. The results identified six categories of perceived reverse discrimination: Reverse discrimination driven by institutions or policies, Reverse discrimination perceived as female privilege, Reverse discrimination embedded in social perceptions, Reverse discrimination based on gender roles and physical attributes, Experiences of male derogation, and Reverse discrimination disseminated through language and media. In addition, three categories of outcomes associated with experiences of reverse discrimination were identified: Silence and inhibited expression, Negative emotions and psychological distress, and Reflection on gender equality and balanced perspectives.

본 연구의 목적은 20대 남자 대학생이 지각한 역차별 경험과 그로 인한 결과를 탐색하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 20세부터 29세까지의 남자 대학생 9명을 대상으로 연구를 실시하였으며, 이 중 6명은 면담·분류·평정 단계에 참여하였고, 3명은 추가 면담에 참여하였다. 연구 방법으로는 개념도 방법론을 활용하였으며, 참여자들이 역차별에 대한 경험을 자유 롭게 진술한 내용을 바탕으로 개념도를 작성하고 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 20대 남자 대학생이 지각한 역차별 경험은 ‘Reverse discrimination driven by institutions or policies’, ‘Reverse discrimination perceived as female privilege’, ‘Reverse discrimination embedded in social perceptions’, ‘Reverse discrimination based on gender roles and physical attributes’, ‘Experiences of male derogation’, ‘Reverse discrimination disseminated through language and media’의 6가지 범주로 도출되었다. 또한 역차별 경험에 따른 결과로는 ‘Silence and inhibited expression’, ‘Negative emotions and psychological distress’, ‘Reflection on gender equality and balanced perspectives’의 3가지 범주가 확인되었다.
